Ember and Blade was given a 2026 target in 2025, with no current schedule verified here. Lords of the Fallen II has since been pushed to Q1 2027, so it belongs on a later-release watchlist, not a 2026 one.
Which Soulslikes are still on the 2026 watchlist?
This is a selected watchlist, not a complete release calendar. Release plans can change, and the announcements below do not all carry the same level of certainty.

| Valor Mortis | Lyrical Games announced September 24, 2026, but Steam’s listing showed October 13, 2026. The cross-platform date is unresolved. | Publisher announcement lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, plus day-one Xbox Game Pass availability and a playable Steam demo. | First-person combat in a supernatural take on 19th-century Europe, with Napoleonic weapons, powers, parries, dashes, and stamina-based fighting. |
| Ember and Blade | LINE Games described 2026 as the target in an April 11, 2025 announcement. A current release date is unconfirmed. | Platforms and current availability are not established in the announcement details available here. | Described as a premium survivor/Soulslike title; further verified details are limited. |
| Lords of the Fallen II | Moved out of the 2026 list: CI Games’ later schedule update targets Q1 2027. | CI Games announced a physical distribution partnership with PLAION; current release platforms and physical-edition availability should not be inferred from that partnership alone. | CI Games describes it as a Soulslike action-RPG. |
Valor Mortis: the strongest 2026 candidate, with a date mismatch
Valor Mortis is the most fully described upcoming candidate here. Lyrical Games’ June 7, 2026 announcement calls it a first-person Soulslike developed by One More Level. Its setting reimagines 19th-century Europe through a supernatural lens, following a resurrected soldier from Napoleon’s Grande Armée.
The announced combat mix includes Napoleonic-era weapons and supernatural abilities, with stamina- and skill-based encounters, parries, and dashes. The publisher also describes Metroidvania-style exploration. Lyrical Games’ feature description sums up its approach: “Every death is a stepping stone to mastery.” Read the publisher’s announcement and check the linked Steam listing.
#1 Best Overall
- HARNESS CORRUPTED POWER - Each death is a chance to grow stronger. Master a combat system of parries, dashes, and visceral finishers across a variety of weapons. Channel your power to enhance attacks and unlock new supernatural abilities to inflict upon your enemies.
- SECRETS LITTER THE BATTLEFIELD - Navigate a 19th-century alternate history where the costs of endless war have corrupted the landscape. Use your newfound mobility to outmaneuver the plague-ridden abominations of Napoleon’s Eternal Guard and uncover environmental secrets that may increase your chances of survival.
- UNCOVER A HORRID CONSPIRACY - Witness a compelling story where historical figures and realities intertwine with elements of horror and the supernatural. Explore beyond the dark corners of the world to discover the truth behind the plague and your unholy resurrection.
The date needs special care: Lyrical Games’ release announcement gives September 24, 2026, while Steam’s surfaced listing showed October 13, 2026. Those are different dates, so neither should be treated as a settled date across all platforms. The publisher announcement lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, and says the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one; it also notes a playable Steam demo.
Ember and Blade: a 2026 target that needs confirmation
LINE Games’ April 11, 2025 announcement characterized Ember and Blade as a premium survivor/Soulslike game and targeted a 2026 retail release. That is an older target, not confirmation of a current launch date. The available announcement details do not establish its platforms or whether the target still holds. See LINE Games’ announcement.

Lords of the Fallen II: watch for 2027 instead
Lords of the Fallen II is worth tracking if you are looking beyond 2026, but it should not be presented as a 2026 release. CI Games’ later schedule-update result targets Q1 2027. The company’s archive describes the game as a Soulslike action-RPG, and CI Games has announced a global physical distribution partnership with PLAION; that partnership is not, by itself, confirmation of a currently available physical edition.

- Conflicting store and publisher dates: For Valor Mortis, check the live store page and publisher announcement near release; the two dates cited above do not match.
- Older target announcement: For Ember and Blade, treat 2026 as the target LINE Games stated in April 2025, not a confirmed current date.
- Later schedule update: For Lords of the Fallen II, use the Q1 2027 target from CI Games’ later schedule update rather than older 2026 announcements.
