VideoGamer reported that SamLeakss posted “SOUTH PARK x FORTNITE COMING VERY SOON” on October 27, 2025. The leaker said the claim was “Confirmed to me by a reliable source at Paramount.” The report stressed that the information was not datamined and offered no further details. When was the crossover officially announced?
On January 6, 2026, Fortnite teased South Park-related news for January 9 with “Chaos, loading…” and an image of Butters, according to Kotaku’s January 7 coverage. The next day, the South Park account made the collaboration official: “PREPARE. FOR. CHAOS. South Park is coming to Fortnite. 1.9.26”. The announced date, January 9, 2026, is past.
What appeared in the trailer leak?
Before the official trailer release, Kotaku reported that a trailer had leaked. Its preview showed Cartman, Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Butters in cardboard mech suits, along with Cartmanland. Those were details from leak coverage at the time, distinct from the accounts’ official announcement. Kotaku’s report said the leak coverage did not establish exact release timing or cosmetic prices.

What did Fortnite promote for the event?
In a January 7 post quoted by Dexerto, Fortnite wrote: “Join the boys in Cartmanland on Friday and keep your eyes peeled for the Stick of Truth…and CONTROL THE STORM!” Dexerto’s January 8 report described the event’s featured characters as Kyle Broflovski, Kenny McCormick, A.W.E.S.O.M.-O, Butters as Professor Chaos and Stan Marsh. It also described Cheesy Poofs, Kenny’s Respawn Token, the Stick of Truth and a mini-episode.
