Galactic Conquest is the name of an official Star Wars: Legion organized-play event format—not, in the official materials reviewed, a territorial campaign system. It uses Swiss-style tournament rounds and Event Points, with round counts and a possible cut based on attendance. If you want a linked narrative campaign, Atomic Mass Games lists Tours of Duty separately from the Galactic Conquest Event rules.
What Galactic Conquest means in Star Wars: Legion
Atomic Mass Games uses “Galactic Conquest” for an organized-play event format. The name does not establish an official map-based or territory-capturing campaign. The official Legion rules and organized-play index lists Galactic Conquest Event rules separately from campaign-oriented Tours of Duty resources.
That distinction is useful if you encountered the phrase while looking for a campaign to play with friends: the event packet describes how to run a structured competition, not a sequence of linked narrative missions. A group seeking a campaign should look at the separately listed campaign resources or use a community-created system, checking its rules and assumptions independently.
Which rules are current?
The Galactic Conquest Event Rules packet covered here is effective January 27, 2025. Atomic Mass Games announced its organized-play update on January 21, 2025, describing changes to event structure, Swiss rounds, top cuts, and other details. The official index labels the Core Rules page as last updated June 17, 2026; that date is for the Core Rules page, not a new effective date for the 2025 Galactic Conquest packet.

How the tournament is structured
Swiss rounds, Event Points, and cuts
The first Swiss round pairs players randomly. In later rounds, players are generally paired against others with the same number of Event Points, while the event tries to avoid repeat opponents within a stage where possible. The player with the most Event Points after the Swiss rounds wins, unless the event’s announced progression cut sends qualifying players to another stage.

Information and conduct at the table
The event packet describes Star Wars: Legion as “an open information game.” Players may ask to see non-Command Cards in an opponent’s army list. It expects civil conduct, a transparent game state, and respectful dispute resolution; intentional deception or disruptive behavior can lead to warnings or ejection.
Galactic Conquest versus a narrative campaign
| Question | Galactic Conquest event | Narrative campaign |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Organized competitive play | Linked story or campaign progression |
| Structure | Swiss rounds, Event Points, and possibly a progression cut | Determined by the campaign rules being used |
| Preparation | Submit a fixed army list and bring the required game components | Depends on the campaign’s rules and the group’s setup |
| Where to find official resources | Galactic Conquest Event rules on the Atomic Mass Games index | Tours of Duty appears separately on that index as a campaign-oriented resource |
For a sanctioned-style event, use the official event packet and current rules materials. For narrative play, start with the campaign resources listed separately; do not assume tournament procedures apply to a campaign.
