To win a fixed Canto Fathier race in Star Wars Outlaws, find its Datapad clue, then choose the Fathier whose listed trait matches. Before betting, check the upper-right of the betting screen: it identifies an active fixed race and repeats the clue, so you can confirm your choice instead of relying on memory.
How to win a fixed Fathier race
-
Find and note the clue
Read Datapads as you explore, including those in Syndicate areas. A guide from GamesRadar+ gives the Crimson Dawn Vault Intel Chain and a Pyke Syndicate vault Datapad as examples, not a complete location list. The clue may specify a trait such as height, age, or color. The guide says it is not automatically recorded in the journal, so remember or write down the detail.

Open a betting station
Go to a betting station, marked on the map in most major cities, and interact with it to open the betting screen.
-
Confirm the fixed-race clue
Look at the upper-right of the betting screen for the fixed-race notice and repeated clue. Compare the listed Fathiers using the specified trait. For example, if the clue says to pick the tallest, choose the tallest option shown.

Place your wager
Once the clue and matching Fathier agree, choose your stake, place the wager, and collect the winnings after the race. The GamesRadar+ guide says the maximum stake cannot lose when the active fixed-race clue is correctly applied. That claim is specific to a usable fixed-race clue; it is not a guarantee for ordinary races.
-
Look for another clue before betting again
The guide reports that only one fixed race is active at a time and recommends betting on it after finding its clue, then seeking the next clue for another fixed race. It does not give a universal reset timer or a complete list of Datapad locations.

What if there is no fixed-race notice?
If the betting screen does not show an active fixed-race notice and clue, you do not have the evidence-backed selection method described above. The available guide does not establish a reliable way to guarantee an ordinary race win, so do not treat a Fathier’s apparent form, popularity, or past results as certain predictors.

Ubisoft’s December 12, 2024 Title Update 1.5.0 notes say Ubisoft “Fixed an issue where Kay would be unable to speak to vendors or Preeban after winning a fixed Fathier race” during Beginnings on Canto Bight. This records a specific fix in that update; it does not establish that every later build is free of bugs.
