Starship Troopers: Extermination left Early Access and launched in its 1.0 release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in October 2024. The exact date depends on the source and platform: Offworld Industries announced October 11 for the update and console debut, Steam lists October 10, and the US PlayStation Store lists October 25. The game supports crossplay across the three platforms, but progress does not transfer between PC and console.
When did Starship Troopers: Extermination launch?
Offworld Industries announced that Update 1.0 would arrive on October 11, 2024, introducing the game on consoles alongside PC. Storefront listings show different dates: Steam records the full release as October 10, 2024, while the US PlayStation Store lists October 25, 2024. Can PC and console players play together?
Yes. Offworld announced crossplay among PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so players on those platforms can team up across platform boundaries. Offworld Industries’ Update 1.0 announcement
Does progress transfer between PC and console?
No. Offworld stated that the game would not feature cross-save or cross-platform progression. It also said PC profile data would not transfer to console or vice versa; switching platforms means starting as a newly enlisted trooper. What kind of game is it?
Steam describes Starship Troopers: Extermination as a 16-player cooperative first-person shooter with strategic base building. PlayStation’s store page likewise describes 16-player co-op and lists six specialized classes. The 16-player figure is the size of a co-op team, not a player-population statistic. Was there a physical Collector’s Edition?
Yes. Offworld announced a Collector’s Edition for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, produced and distributed with Limited Run Games. The announced contents were a Federation flag, posters, stickers and a Warrior Bug figure.
