Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Neither Steam Deck model is officially supported for skate. Electronic Arts states in its Early Access PC requirements: “While skate. will be Steam Native, Steam Deck will not be supported.” That applies to both OLED and LCD; the hardware differences do not change EA’s support position.
Is skate. supported on Steam Deck OLED or LCD?
No. EA’s official requirements exclude Steam Deck, and EA also states that macOS and Linux are not supported. “Steam Native” does not mean Steam Deck compatible: EA explicitly distinguishes the two. The game’s Steam listing specifies Windows 10 64-bit and DirectX 12, rather than SteamOS.
The Steam listing identifies skate. as an Early Access game released September 16, 2025. Its listed requirements and EA’s Deck exclusion are more relevant to compatibility than a comparison of the Deck models’ specifications. No cited official source provides an OLED-versus-LCD test of skate., so a launch result or gameplay performance for either model cannot be established from these specifications.
Steam Deck OLED vs. LCD: official specifications
Valve’s specification pages show a newer APU process and faster listed memory for OLED, but the CPU and GPU architectures and core/unit counts are the same. These are hardware specifications, not skate. benchmarks.

Does the OLED run skate. better than the LCD?
There is no official skate. performance comparison between the Deck OLED and LCD in the cited sources. The OLED’s memory rate and APU process differ, but that alone cannot establish whether the game will launch, how many frames it would deliver, or whether play would be stable. EA excludes the Deck platform, and the Steam listing specifies Windows requirements.

The OLED does have the screen advantage on paper: its display is larger, supports HDR and can refresh up to 90 Hz, compared with the LCD’s 7-inch, 60 Hz panel. Those differences do not make skate. supported or establish a game-specific visual or performance benefit.
How long does skate. last on Steam Deck battery?
No cited source reports skate. battery life on either Deck. Valve lists a 50 Wh battery and a broad 3–12-hour gameplay estimate for OLED, and a 40 Wh battery with a 2–8-hour estimate for LCD. These are general manufacturer ranges, not controlled skate. tests; they should not be read as predicted playtime for this game.
Do Steam Deck controls work with skate.?
Valve lists broadly similar built-in controls on both Deck models: gamepad controls, two sticks, trackpads, gyro and four assignable grip buttons. The cited sources do not document skate.-specific control mapping or confirm that the built-in controls work with the game on Steam Deck.
For supported PC play, EA says keyboard and mouse are not supported in Early Access and a controller is required. EA names PS4 DualShock, PS5 DualSense, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S controllers, as well as DualSense Edge and Xbox Elite V1/V2. That requirement applies to PC play; it does not override EA’s exclusion of Steam Deck.
