Eco Inc. Save the Earth is the 2023 strategy game named in a report about a limited-time Steam giveaway. The report says developer GameFirst announced on October 5, 2026, that the game would become paid “no sooner than one week” later—meaning October 12 is the earliest implied date, not a confirmed cutoff. Check the game’s Steam store listing for its current price and exact offer end time before claiming it.
Which game is free on Steam?
The game is Eco Inc. Save the Earth, a strategy game about environmental issues. Game Rant, in an article reproduced by BovineBear, reported that GameFirst announced the free-to-paid transition on October 5, 2026.
How long do you have to claim it?
According to that report, GameFirst said: “Eco Inc. Save the Earth will become a paid game on Steam no sooner than one week after this announcement.” That wording implies the game would not become paid before October 12, 2026. It does not establish an exact deadline or ending time, and the announcement was not independently checked against GameFirst’s original post.
The game’s live Steam offer, current price, regional availability, and precise expiration time have not been independently verified. Check the store page promptly; do not treat October 12 as an official cutoff.

What “free” means: permanent claim or temporary access?
Steam distinguishes a Free to Keep promotion from Free to Play and a Free Weekend. Under Steamworks’ Free to Keep guidance, acquiring a game during a qualifying promotion grants a permanent license. A Free Weekend provides access only for a limited period; Free to Play is a continuing model in which the game can be played without an initial purchase. The announcement alone does not verify the specific live offer terms for Eco Inc. Save the Earth, so confirm the listing before proceeding.
