If your Streamlabs Mobile stream keeps disconnecting from YouTube, first check whether YouTube is actually receiving the broadcast. A running timer in Streamlabs with no live video on YouTube points to a different problem than dropped frames or a stream that starts and then stops. Match the fix to what you see: verify the destination, check network quality, reduce avoidable phone load, and investigate YouTube event errors.
First identify what is disconnecting
Open the YouTube watch page or YouTube Studio and compare its status with Streamlabs Mobile. Check whether viewers lose a broadcast that was already visible on YouTube, or whether YouTube never receives it at all.
- YouTube receives the stream, then it drops or buffers: investigate the network path and phone configuration.
- Streamlabs shows a running timer, FPS, bitrate, and Stop control, but YouTube shows no broadcast: check the false-live issue and Disconnect Protection workaround below.
- The failure happens only when starting a new or scheduled event: check YouTube account eligibility, event selection, and current Streamlabs issue notices before assuming the network is at fault.
Check the network for packet loss and instability
Streamlabs says dropped frames or disconnections can happen when the stream is struggling to communicate over the network. Its Ping Test guide recommends checking latency, packet loss, and jitter. Latency is round-trip time; packet loss means sent data does not return; jitter is inconsistency in the connection. Streamlabs says even 1% packet loss can cause a stream to drop. That is support guidance about a possible effect, not a measured estimate of how often users disconnect.
Compare connections under similar conditions
- Note the time of the problem and whether the phone was on Wi-Fi or cellular.
- If practical, try a different stable connection or location and see whether the same symptom occurs.
- Run a continuous ping test if Streamlabs Support asks for one, and record the results alongside the connection used.
The support guidance does not establish universal good latency or jitter thresholds, so do not treat an arbitrary number as proof that a mobile connection is suitable. A single successful test also may not capture intermittent loss.

Reduce avoidable phone and video-setting strain
Before going live, close other open apps and review Streamlabs Mobile’s streaming settings. The app’s video controls include output resolution, frame rate, and maximum bitrate. The available settings can vary by platform and app version, and Streamlabs does not specify one bitrate or resolution that fixes every disconnect.
- Record your current settings before changing them.
- Change one setting at a time, then compare stream stability under similar network conditions.
- If lowering output demands helps, keep the best quality that remains stable on your actual connection.

If Streamlabs says live but YouTube says otherwise
Streamlabs documents a false-live condition where its app can show a timer, FPS, bitrate, and Stop control even though the destination platform is not receiving the stream. The issue notice links this symptom to Disconnect Protection failing to connect properly to Streamlabs servers. Disconnect Protection is intended to show viewers a “Be Right Back” screen while the creator reconnects; it does not stabilize a weak mobile connection.

- In Streamlabs Mobile, open Main Menu → Disconnect Protection and turn Disconnect Protection off.
- Alternatively, enable Multistream on Streamlabs.com.
These workarounds are for the documented false-live condition. If YouTube was receiving your stream and it later dropped, diagnose the network separately. See the Streamlabs issue notice for the documented symptom.
For mobile streaming on the move: consider Network Boost
Streamlabs Network Boost is a multi-connection feature intended to improve mobile connection reliability. Its current guide requires a primary iOS streaming device, an active Ultra or Ultra+ subscription, and more than one internet connection. The documented setup can use a second device to host a hotspot; at the time described, the relay device could be iOS or Android. A second connection may help when coverage varies, but it is not a guarantee against poor coverage, carrier outages, or loss affecting both connections. Buying a hotspot alone will not resolve those problems or an app or YouTube event error.

A go-live failure can resemble a connection drop when the issue is actually account eligibility or the selected broadcast event. Streamlabs’ YouTube-from-phone setup guide says livestreaming must be enabled on the YouTube account before its first attempt; account setup delays can prevent going live. In the app, verify that you selected the intended event—new, scheduled, or active.

Issue status can change. Streamlabs marked three YouTube Mobile go-live problems resolved in a notice dated September 3, 2026: duplicate broadcasts after creating a new broadcast, a broadcast that never actually went live, and a vertical-mode RTMP creation error. A separate notice dated September 28, 2026 said scheduled YouTube streams could fail with a 403 or 500 error and was marked “Investigating” when retrieved. Check the notices for current status before treating an event-specific failure as a network problem: YouTube Mobile go-live issues and scheduled YouTube stream issue.
When the fixes do not work
Contact Streamlabs through in-app Support or a support ticket, as its Mobile Live Streaming Guide recommends. Include useful diagnostic details:
- Phone model, operating system, and Streamlabs Mobile version.
- Whether the destination was a new, active, or scheduled YouTube event.
- The exact time of the failure and the connection type in use.
- A screenshot of any error, and whether Streamlabs still reported the stream as live.
- Ping-test results if Support requests them.
Do not send or publish your account password or stream key.
