If you only need comments on a second device, create Pop-Out Chat in a desktop browser and open its QR code or link on your phone or tablet.
Choose the mobile setup that matches your role

Monitor the full studio as a host
- On Android, open Chrome; on iPhone or iPad, open Safari. StreamYard directs hosts to these mobile browsers rather than a native host app. StreamYard Help Center
- Sign in to StreamYard in the browser and enter the studio for the broadcast.
- Open the studio’s Comments panel to follow comments from supported destinations, including YouTube. Select a comment to display it on the broadcast; select it again to hide it. StreamYard Help Center
Mobile studio access is not identical to desktop. On iPhone and iPad, native screen sharing and green-screen or virtual-background features are unavailable according to StreamYard’s iOS guidance. Check its current iOS information for device requirements and limitations. For a production that depends on those features, use a computer as the main studio device.
Use the iOS Guest app if you are an invited guest
- Open the host’s invite link on your iOS device and join using the StreamYard Guest app or a supported browser route.
- Allow camera and microphone access if you will appear or speak. You enter backstage until the host puts you on stage.
- Use the comments view to read comments from the host’s destinations. The app is for guests, not host controls; its documented requirements include iOS 15 or later. StreamYard Help Center
The app’s documented limitations include no screen sharing and no ability for a guest to post comments from the app. For guest audio, StreamYard recommends earbuds or headphones to reduce echo. StreamYard Help Center
Put comments on a second phone or tablet
- While the host or cohost is in the live studio on a desktop browser, open Comments and choose the Pop-Out Chat control.
- Use the displayed QR code or copy the link.
- Open that QR code or link on the phone or tablet that will serve as the comments screen. It displays the live comments stream, not the studio controls. StreamYard Help Center
You need a desktop browser to create the pop-out; a mobile browser cannot initiate it. A stand is optional if you want the second screen to remain visible hands-free.

Display and moderate comments from the studio
Show a comment on screen
In the studio’s Comments panel, select a comment to put it on the broadcast and select it again to remove it. Which comments appear depends on the connected destinations and their support. StreamYard Help Center
Use an automatic chat overlay
StreamYard documents a Chat Overlay that automatically displays incoming comments from supported destinations, including YouTube. Its help article describes this as a paid-plan feature; check current plan details before relying on it. StreamYard Help Center

Moderate YouTube comments
StreamYard documents in-studio options to delete a YouTube comment or block a viewer. Its guidance says a blocked viewer can still watch, but their comments stop appearing. StreamYard Help Center
Check the YouTube connection if comments or the broadcast are missing
Confirm that the correct YouTube destination is connected in StreamYard and that the account has the required channel ownership or manager access. Connection and channel requirements can change, so follow StreamYard’s current YouTube connection guidance. Streaming through StreamYard is distinct from starting a stream directly in YouTube’s mobile app.

Troubleshoot common mobile-monitoring problems
- You cannot find a StreamYard host app: Use Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone and iPad to enter the studio. The iOS native app is documented for guests, not hosts. StreamYard Help Center
- Pop-Out Chat will not open from your phone: Have the host or cohost create it in a desktop browser, then send or scan the link on the mobile device. StreamYard Help Center
- You are in the iOS Guest app but cannot control the broadcast: That app is for invited guests. Ask the host to use the browser studio for host controls. StreamYard Help Center
- You can read comments but cannot post as a guest in the app: Guest commenting from the iOS app is not supported in its documented limitations. Use the host’s available YouTube moderation tools or another supported method. StreamYard Help Center
