Summer Game Fest Live 2025 aired on June 6, 2025, with new game reveals alongside trailers and updates for announced titles. Among its headline reveals were Mortal Shell II and Resident Evil Requiem; Capcom also brought new footage and announcements for Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Street Fighter 6. Here’s what the main showcase announced, with first reveals separated from updates.

Headline reveals

GameSpot’s same-day recap highlighted Mortal Shell II and a new Resident Evil game among the showcase’s surprises. They were prominent reveals, not the only major announcements in a two-hour program that also featured updates for previously announced games.

Mortal Shell II

Mortal Shell II was announced during the show. Windows Central’s retrospective list reported a 2026 release window in its 2025 coverage; treat that as the event-era schedule, not a current release-date confirmation. The available recap does not establish platform exclusivity.

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom revealed Resident Evil Requiem, a new entry in the series. In its June 12, 2025 recap, Capcom said the game introduces Grace Ashcroft and offers first- or third-person play. Capcom described its showcase slate this way: “During the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase, we were excited to make a multitude of announcements during the event.” The statement is from Capcom, not an identified individual speaker.

Trailers and updates for announced games

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Capcom presented the latest trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. It was a new look at an announced game, rather than its first reveal.

Street Fighter 6 Year 3

Capcom announced the Year 3 character lineup for Street Fighter 6, an update to the existing game rather than a new title reveal.

Other returning projects

The broader announcement slate included trailers or updates for known projects as well as new titles. Windows Central’s 2025 retrospective list includes Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Atomic Heart II, Jurassic World Evolution 3, and Dying Light: The Beast among the games covered. Its list is useful for identifying event-time platform and release details, but those details should not be read as a live schedule.

More games announced or featured

Windows Central’s retrospective roundup also includes CODE VEIN II, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, and Mina the Hollower. Together with the headline reveals and Capcom’s announcements, these illustrate the mix of projects represented at the showcase. The platform lists in event coverage indicate announced platforms; they do not, by themselves, establish exclusivity.

Event announcements are not a current release calendar

Dates and platforms below reflect details reported in retrospective 2025 coverage, not a present-day check of release status or availability. Windows Central listed Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PlayStation 5 with a June 26, 2025 release date, and Mortal Shell II for 2026. Confirm a game’s current launch date and platform with its publisher or platform holder before relying on those listings.

What counted as part of the main show?

Summer Game Fest Live was one part of a broader June 6, 2025 programming calendar. The official Summer Game Fest calendar also listed Wholesome Direct on June 6, describing it as a showcase for premieres and other game announcements. Wholesome Direct was adjacent programming, not an announcement segment of the main live showcase.

The official Summer Game Fest home page now features the 2026 event, so it should not be used to establish the 2025 schedule. For the 2025 show, GameSpot provides contemporaneous event coverage, Capcom is the primary source for its own announcements, and Windows Central offers a retrospective list of games and event-time details.
