The developer suggests turning Vsync off for stuttering; Steam Support’s guidance for network latency is to check server latency and region. These are useful first checks, not guaranteed fixes.
First identify what “lag” means
Different symptoms point to different checks. Watch whether the problem appears outside online interactions, such as in menus or solo play, and whether the image itself moves unevenly.
- Stuttering or frame-rate slowdown: movement or turning looks uneven, potentially even when you are not interacting with other players.
- Network delay: the game appears smooth, but actions or other players seem to respond late.
- Timeout or disconnect: the session ends or a connection error appears. That is not the same symptom as a brief delay or choppy rendering.
This distinction is a practical troubleshooting aid, not an official diagnostic tool for the game.
If movement looks choppy, test Vsync
In a pinned support discussion, Super Battle Golf developer chalicewarden says: “Moving really slowly? Turning your Vsync Off may assist with this.” The suggestion concerns stuttering; it is not presented as a fix for online latency.

- Open the game’s video or graphics settings and locate Vsync.
- Turn Vsync off, then check whether the same movement or turning symptom changes.
- Change one setting at a time so you can tell whether the result is associated with that change.
The developer says it may help, so treat the result as a test rather than a promised cure. Developer support discussion.
If the game is smooth but online play feels delayed
Steam Support describes lag as high network latency interfering with gameplay and recommends checking server latency and the selected region. This is general Steam guidance, not a diagnosis of Super Battle Golf’s servers or of your connection.

- Check the server latency information available for the session and confirm which region is selected.
- If practical, compare a session with a nearby friend or lobby. Also note whether other online games show similar delays.
- Use those comparisons to narrow down whether the symptom is limited to one session or appears more broadly; they are isolation tests, not confirmed Super Battle Golf remedies.
Steam’s guidance does not set a Super Battle Golf target ping or packet-loss threshold. The game’s Steam listing describes it as an online game for 1–8 players and lists broadband internet, but does not state a required bandwidth figure or network-performance benchmark. If you are using Wi-Fi, compare with a wired test
If your PC currently uses Wi-Fi and it is practical to do so, temporarily test the same kind of session over Ethernet. This can help you compare the connection conditions; the available game and Steam sources do not establish that Ethernet fixes Super Battle Golf lag. There is no reason to buy equipment before trying a temporary wired connection, if one is available.

If an update or connection error is involved
The game’s official announcement feed documents selected connection-related fixes, including a fix for a false “Connection failed” message after cancelling a password prompt. That specific fix does not establish a universal patch for current lag, timeouts, or disconnects.
- Restart Steam and check the game’s current official announcements for an update relevant to your symptom.
- If an update has not applied, follow the game’s official update guidance to verify the game-file integrity in Steam.
- Retest and note whether the symptom is choppy rendering, delayed online response, a timeout, or a disconnect; those are different problems.

If disconnects continue, give the developer useful details
A Steam Community discussion shows the developer asking for a player log in response to a disconnect report. That example does not show how common the issue is, but it indicates the kind of diagnostic information that can help with an individual report.

- Record when the timeout or disconnect happens and what you were doing.
- Include the lobby or server context, if known, and whether other online games show similar symptoms.
- Send the player log through the developer’s current support channel, following its instructions for locating and sharing the file.

The Steam listing gives minimum PC requirements of Windows 10, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 950 4 GB or equivalent, DirectX 11, and broadband internet. Meeting those listed minimums does not by itself establish that a PC or connection will be free of stuttering or latency; the listing does not publish a target ping, packet-loss limit, or bandwidth requirement.
Official sources document a cautious Vsync suggestion for stuttering and selected fixes for connection-related errors. Community reports can illustrate symptoms such as a connection timeout or disconnect, but they do not establish prevalence or a shared cause. No named statistic or published study in these sources quantifies how often Super Battle Golf players experience lag.
