Take-Two Interactive has signed a new long-term Xbox publishing license with Microsoft, replacing its earlier Xbox publisher agreements. The deal covers Xbox-compatible products broadly; it is not described as a GTA 6-specific contract. Take-Two has separately confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
What Take-Two’s new Xbox agreement covers
Take-Two’s September 30, 2026, SEC filing says the company entered into the agreement on September 28, effective September 17. It gives Take-Two rights to develop, publish, manufacture, market, advertise, distribute and sell Xbox-compatible products for Xbox devices. The filing says the agreement “supersedes and replaces all of the Company’s existing XBOX publisher license agreements with Microsoft.” Read the SEC filing.
In practical terms, this is a broad publishing and platform license, not an announcement of a new Xbox game or a special GTA 6 arrangement. The public summary describes Microsoft’s rights to review and approve game concepts and final game versions, as well as packaging and marketing materials that feature Microsoft’s marks.
What the filing discloses about payments—and what it does not
The agreement summary distinguishes digital sales from physical-media manufacturing:

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Digitally delivered products and content sold by Microsoft: Microsoft pays the applicable wholesale price and/or a revenue share agreed by the parties.
- Physical-media products manufactured for Take-Two: Microsoft charges fees and royalties.
The summary does not disclose the wholesale prices, revenue-share rates, manufacturing fees or royalties. It also does not state the exact contract duration; “long-term” is the only public description of its term in the filing summary. Either party may terminate for material breach or insolvency, and Take-Two retains certain rights to sell existing inventory after expiration or termination.
Take-Two says the filing is a summary and that the full agreement text will be filed as an exhibit to its Form 10-Q for the quarter ending September 30, 2026. Until that exhibit is available, the precise term and fuller economic terms cannot be established from the public summary.

What this means for GTA 6 on Xbox
Take-Two and Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, with a November 19, 2026 release date. That platform announcement—not the general license renewal—is the direct confirmation that GTA 6 is planned for Xbox. The SEC filing does not name GTA 6 as a title covered by a specific clause or say the agreement was renewed because of its launch. The timing makes the license relevant context for Take-Two’s Xbox publishing, but it does not prove a GTA-specific commercial arrangement.
Take-Two’s fiscal 2026 results also listed the game for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 with the November 19 date, while noting that timely delivery of announced titles was among the assumptions behind the company’s outlook. See Take-Two’s fiscal 2026 results.
