Take-Two Interactive reported $1.37 billion in net bookings for the fiscal third quarter ended December 31, 2024, up 3% from $1.34 billion a year earlier. Its earnings release said Grand Theft Auto VI was planned for fall 2025, but did not include the November 19, 2026 launch date announced later. That date is the company’s subsequent plan, not an update contained in the $1.37 billion report.

What Take-Two reported for the holiday quarter

The result covered Take-Two’s fiscal third quarter, which ended December 31, 2024. Net bookings were $1.37 billion, compared with $1.34 billion in the fiscal third quarter of 2024—a 3% year-over-year increase, according to the company’s fiscal third-quarter 2025 release.

Bookings are not the same measure as revenue. Take-Two defines net bookings as the net amount of products and services sold digitally or physically during the period, including licensing fees, merchandise, in-game advertising, strategy guides and publisher incentives. The company reports GAAP net revenue separately. Accordingly, $1.37 billion is the quarter’s net bookings figure, not its GAAP revenue.

What the report said about GTA VI

The fiscal third-quarter 2025 release listed Grand Theft Auto VI among titles planned for fall 2025. It did not announce a specific November 2026 date. The $1.37 billion was Take-Two’s total net bookings for the quarter; the release does not break that historical total out as GTA VI sales.

How the launch date changed in later updates

Take-Two later announced November 19, 2026 as the planned launch date. In its fiscal second-quarter 2026 release, CEO Strauss Zelnick said, “Rockstar Games will now release Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026, and we remain both excited and confident they will deliver an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience.”

The company continued to cite November 19, 2026 in its subsequent fiscal third-quarter 2026 and fiscal first-quarter 2027 results releases. Those later statements make clear why the original headline’s “no update” must be read in the context of the 2025 earnings report, rather than as the company’s latest launch-date position.

How the $1.37 billion figure compares with later quarters

Fiscal period Net bookings Comparison or context
Fiscal third quarter 2025, ended December 31, 2024 $1.37 billion Up 3% from $1.34 billion in fiscal third quarter 2024.
Fiscal third quarter 2026 $1.76 billion Up 28% from the prior-year fiscal third quarter’s $1.37 billion.
Fiscal first quarter 2027, three months ended June 30, 2026 $1.39 billion Down 3% from $1.42 billion in the prior-year quarter.

The later figures come from Take-Two’s fiscal third-quarter 2026 and fiscal first-quarter 2027 releases. They refer to different fiscal quarters and should not be read as revisions to the December 2024 result. In the fiscal first-quarter 2027 release, Take-Two also reiterated its fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion. Zelnick linked that outlook to positive trends and excitement around the planned November 19 launch.
