As of October 4, 2026, Pocket Gamer’s version 3.49.0 Tap Force tier list places 26 fighters in S tier, including the newest addition, Yomi. That broad ranking is a starting point, not a universal answer to who you should choose or invest in: Campaign, PvP, Mech Event, and other modes reward different strengths. Build around your mode, roster, and fighter roles rather than copying one supposedly best six-character lineup.
Tap Force tier list for version 3.49.0
Pocket Gamer’s list, updated October 4, 2026, ranks fighters from S to F and describes itself as universal. Its S tier comprises Yomi, Zyka, Flint, Rocco, Talon, Chancer, Nyx, Gorongo, Raja, Lucius, Xeno, Laguna, Zura, Pyra, Teryx, Safros, Lily, Kotaro, Fenrus, Scythe, Necro, Vex, Baron, Locke, and Zemus. Yomi is identified as the latest addition. See Pocket Gamer’s Tap Force tier list for the full ranking.
The tier labels are editorial judgments, not official game ratings or guarantees of performance. Pocket Gamer characterizes S-tier fighters as powerful into late game but difficult to obtain; A-tier fighters as needing a solid team; B-tier fighters as potentially competitive when upgraded and equipped well; and C-tier choices as useful for beginners while they wait for stronger options. The practical implication is to weigh availability and investment alongside a letter grade.
Why the tier list is not the same as the best team
A character ranking compares fighters broadly; a team has to meet a particular mode’s demands and work with the other fighters you own. Combat Codex publishes separate rankings for Mech, Club Smash, PvP, Hard Mode, Sewers, and Campaign. Its rankings and tools are an unofficial community reference, not developer-certified ratings. Use the relevant mode list as a second opinion, not as an absolute verdict: Combat Codex / TapForce Companion.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
There is no established single six-fighter composition that is best for every mode, account, and progression stage. A lineup that excels at damage in one activity may lack the durability, support, or matchup advantage needed elsewhere.
How to put together a good team
Combat Codex describes Tap Force as a turn-based gacha battler in which players build a team of six. Its fighter guide gives a flexible general framework: one or two damage dealers, one or two supports, and a tank or brawler on the front line. The guide also discusses teams of five to six, so treat the six-character format as the usual target rather than a rule that overrides a mode or your available roster. Check the fighter guide for its role descriptions and recommendations.

It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
- Start with the mode. Decide whether you are building for Campaign, PvP, Mech Event, Club Smash, Hard Mode, or Sewers. Look at that mode’s demands and, if useful, its separate community ranking rather than relying only on the broad tier list.
- Cover roles with fighters you can build. Choose damage dealers for the job, add support where it helps the lineup function, and protect the team with a suitable front-line tank or brawler. The role mix is a framework, not a fixed recipe.
- Check faction matchups. Combat Codex says a fighter dealing damage to a faction they counter gets a 30% damage advantage. The companion page is undated; it highlights this mechanic as especially relevant to Mech Event and Arena. Consult its faction guide when matchup choices matter.
- Account for unlocks and progression. A fighter’s fourth skill unlocks at level 180. A character whose defining ability is not yet available may perform differently from the same fighter later in progression; do not assume an endgame ranking automatically makes that character the best early investment.
- Adjust after seeing what the team lacks. If damage is already sufficient, another damage dealer may contribute less than useful support or front-line durability. If a specific mode calls for a different balance, adapt rather than forcing the general role template.
Who should I choose or invest in?
Use the S-tier list to identify broadly strong candidates, then narrow the choice by mode, role, faction matchup, unlock level, and what you actually own. High-tier fighters may be difficult to obtain, and the list itself notes that upgraded, well-equipped lower-tier fighters can still compete. A fighter you can build into a useful role may be a more practical investment than chasing a tier label without considering the rest of your team.
Examples of useful roles and candidates
- Dax: The guide highlights energy manipulation, extra attacks, and team energy on kills, and describes him as useful across modes.
- Laguna: Presented as a support who boosts back-line damage and shields the front line.
- Scythe: The guide says the skill can hit up to six times, with each hit subject to its own damage cap.
- Spekkio: Described by the guide as the leading Mech Event damage dealer, with self-sustaining energy.
- Zura: Combines healing and an attack buff with a Torment debuff; the guide recommends a front position with a block build.
These are examples of the roles and uses the companion guide calls out, not a guaranteed optimal lineup for every player. In particular, a recommendation for Mech Event should not be read as proof that the same fighter or arrangement is best in Campaign or PvP.
