teamviewer_resource_da.dll is a TeamViewer language-resource file, not a Windows system DLL, and the safest repair is to reinstall the matching TeamViewer package. There is no reliable evidence that this file is part of Windows, DirectX, the Visual C++ runtime, .NET, or a hardware driver. Installing those components is not the normal repair.
A historical file index reports a 32-bit build numbered 9.0.24951.0 with a size of about 0.33 MB. That is one reported historical build, not a universal specification. Do not use it to choose a replacement file for a newer installation.

“The specified module could not be found” does not always mean the named DLL alone is absent. A damaged executable, missing dependency, or 32-bit/64-bit mismatch can produce the same loader message.
Fix 1: Clean-reinstall TeamViewer
This is the most likely fix because the file is application-private and must match the TeamViewer executable and other resource files.

- Save any remote-session work.
- Look in the notification area beside the clock.
- Right-click the TeamViewer icon.
- Choose Exit TeamViewer.
- If the icon is hidden, select the small upward arrow first.
If TeamViewer will not exit, open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc, select TeamViewer-related processes, and choose End task.
2. Uninstall it with settings removed
On Windows 11:
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps.
- Find TeamViewer.
- Select the three-dot menu.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Follow the TeamViewer uninstall wizard.
- Select Remove settings when offered.
On Windows 10:
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Choose Apps & features.
- Select TeamViewer.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Select Remove settings in the TeamViewer wizard.
You can also open Control Panel, select Programs and Features, choose TeamViewer, and select Uninstall.
Removing settings is appropriate when repairing a broken installation. If the computer is managed remotely, record any required TeamViewer ID, policy, or account details first because a clean removal can remove local configuration.

3. Restart Windows
Restart instead of merely signing out. This clears locked files and incomplete installer operations.

Use the official TeamViewer Windows download portal. Select the TeamViewer product you actually need, such as the full client, Host, or QuickSupport. Do not combine a resource file from one product with an executable from another.
Choose the correct Windows architecture:
- Select 64-bit if your organization deploys the 64-bit TeamViewer client.
- Select 32-bit if the affected installation or required legacy product is 32-bit.
- Select ARM64 only for a compatible ARM64 Windows device and TeamViewer package.
TeamViewer supports 32-bit and 64-bit clients, but it does not support installing both versions simultaneously. To switch between them, uninstall the current version first.
5. Install it normally
- Run
TeamViewer_Setup.exe. - Choose Default Installation.
- Accept the EULA and DPA.
- Complete setup.
- Restart Windows again if the installer requests it.
Start TeamViewer from the Start menu. The repair worked if it opens without the missing-resource message and can display its interface normally.
If the error remains, do not copy a standalone DLL into the installation folder yet. Continue with the checks below because the installer may be failing, the wrong architecture may be installed, or security software may be deleting the file.

Fix 2: Check antivirus quarantine
Security software can quarantine a file during installation or shortly afterward. A missing Danish resource file may indicate that the package was damaged even if other TeamViewer language files remain.
Windows Security steps
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent actions involving TeamViewer or the resource DLL.
- Open an entry to inspect its path, detection name, and action.
- Restore the file only if the installer came from TeamViewer’s official website and the path is consistent with the TeamViewer installation.
Microsoft warns that restoring a quarantined item can cause Defender to detect it again unless it is explicitly allowed. Do not create an exception for an unknown DLL merely because its filename matches TeamViewer.

After confirming the installer and detection are trustworthy, download a fresh TeamViewer installer and reinstall it. If the file disappears again, check enterprise endpoint-security logs, Controlled folder access, and any company deployment system that may be rolling back the installation.
Fix 3: Verify the installation is not mixed
A TeamViewer executable and its resource files should come from the same product release and architecture. Mixing files from old and new installations can cause both missing-file and “not designed to run on Windows” errors.
Check these points:
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Remove duplicate or obsolete TeamViewer entries if they are not required.
- Check whether your organization requires a specific TeamViewer release.
- Uninstall the current client before switching between 32-bit and 64-bit builds.
- Install the complete package from the official TeamViewer source.
- Do not copy
teamviewer_resource_da.dllfrom another computer.
If an organization requires an older build, use the vendor’s official previous-version download area and install the complete matching package. Do not update only the executable or only one language resource.
Fix 4: Check the file path and signature
If TeamViewer installs but the file vanishes, inspect the installation directory rather than searching all of Windows.
- Right-click the TeamViewer shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Shortcut tab.
- Select Open File Location.
- Look for the TeamViewer resource files beside the application executable.
- Right-click the relevant file, select Properties, and inspect the Digital Signatures tab when present.
A valid signature, expected TeamViewer path, and installer obtained from TeamViewer provide stronger evidence than a matching filename alone. If the file is in a temporary download folder, an unrelated system directory, or a random archive, remove it and reinstall from the official package.
Fix 5: Do not use System32, random DLL sites, or regsvr32
Placing this file in C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64 is unsafe and usually ineffective. Those directories are for Windows components and shared system libraries; teamviewer_resource_da.dll is an application-private TeamViewer resource.

regsvr32 is also not a routine fix:
regsvr32 teamviewer_resource_da.dll
This command is intended for DLLs that expose registration entry points, such as certain OLE or ActiveX components. A language-resource DLL normally does not need registration. Running the command may produce an entry-point error and does not rebuild TeamViewer’s installation.
Fix 6: Repair Windows only if other components are failing
A Windows component problem is possible, but it is less likely than a broken TeamViewer installation. Use DISM and SFC when Windows itself shows broader corruption, such as multiple built-in applications failing or protected system files reporting errors.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Reinstall TeamViewer if the DLL error remains.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. These commands repair protected Windows components; they normally will not recreate a third-party TeamViewer resource file.
Repeatedly running SFC and DISM without knowing what changed can waste time while leaving the application installation untouched. A driver is not the normal owner or dependency of teamviewer_resource_da.dll. Consider driver maintenance only if TeamViewer errors occur alongside display failures, crashes, device problems, or other system instability.
To check manually:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the category related to the failing hardware.
- Right-click the device.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if a driver is installed.
Do not uninstall a working device driver just because TeamViewer reports a missing resource file.
Manually checking every device and matching driver packages can be tedious, especially after a Windows reinstall. Fix 8: Escalate if the file keeps disappearing
If a clean reinstall works only temporarily, investigate the environment instead of replacing the file repeatedly.
Check:
- Windows Security protection history
- Third-party antivirus or EDR quarantine logs
- Controlled-folder access
- Disk errors and available storage
- Installer permissions
- Whether an enterprise deployment tool is rolling back TeamViewer
- Whether the required TeamViewer version is being replaced automatically
- Whether the file disappears immediately after a security scan
Run a full security scan if the file is repeatedly deleted or unfamiliar copies appear. Do not whitelist an unknown copy simply because it uses the TeamViewer filename.

If TeamViewer is an old managed build, contact the administrator or TeamViewer support. The vendor may recommend upgrading rather than repairing an obsolete release. Advanced removal can involve TeamViewer registry entries, including:

Back up the registry before making advanced changes, and use the vendor’s documented uninstall procedure rather than deleting unrelated registry entries.
