Short answer: TELUS appears to have offered a free PlayStation 5 as a gift with an Internet-and-Optik TV bundle, but the promotion cannot currently be treated as a nationwide deal. TELUS’ official bundle builder contains a playstation-5-gwp campaign identifier, while the publicly indexed page currently shows “No gift selected.” It does not reveal the complete province list, PS5 model, expiry date, qualifying plans, or fulfilment terms.
Availability is therefore address-specific. Check your service address and get the PS5 promise in writing before accepting a contract.
What TELUS’ official page confirms
TELUS has an official bundle-builder URL containing the PlayStation 5 gift-with-purchase identifier. The URL is configured for an Internet-and-Optik TV bundle and includes commitment=playstation-5-gwp.
That is strong evidence that a PS5 campaign existed in TELUS’ commerce system. It is not, by itself, proof that the promotion is active, available at every address, or still stocked. The indexed page currently displays “No gift selected,” so the incentive should be considered unconfirmed until it appears during an address-specific checkout or in your written order documents.

Why availability varies by province—and by address
TELUS says on its deals and bundles page that offers depend on location and that customers must check their address. Internet infrastructure, available speeds, Optik TV eligibility, customer status and local promotions can all affect the result.
There is an important distinction:
- Province eligibility: whether TELUS is marketing the campaign in a particular region.
- Address eligibility: whether your specific home can receive the required Internet and Optik TV services and the promotion.
The retrieved TELUS material does not provide a reliable, PS5-specific province-by-province list. Do not assume that a deal advertised in one province applies elsewhere, or that every address in a qualifying province can receive PureFibre or Optik TV.
What “free PS5” may mean
In this type of promotion, “free” generally means there is no separate console price after you meet the qualifying service conditions. It does not mean there is no financial commitment: the required Internet-and-TV plan may involve a long contract and substantial monthly charges.
TELUS has not publicly exposed the key PS5 details on the page reviewed. Before signing up, confirm:
- the exact console model;
- whether it is the disc or Digital Edition;
- whether a controller, stand, game or other accessory is included;
- whether the console is new or refurbished;
- whether taxes or shipping apply;
- when it will be shipped or made available;
- whether installation or activation must occur first; and
- whether the gift is subject to inventory limits or a minimum active-service period.
Do not assign the PS5 a specific retail value until the model and included items are confirmed.

What service package might be required?
The campaign URL preselects 300 Mbps Internet and Optik TV Core plus one premium package. That may be a campaign default, an example or a historical URL state; it is not enough to establish the universal qualifying package.
Ask TELUS to confirm whether eligibility requires:
- a minimum Internet speed;
- Optik TV rather than a streaming-only television product;
- a particular TV package or premium add-on;
- a 24-month Internet term and a matching TV term;
- new activation instead of an upgrade or renewal;
- new-customer status or no recent TELUS Internet-and-TV subscription; or
- TELUS Mobility, Koodo, pre-authorized payments or another linked service.
Related TELUS bundle promotions commonly use 24-month commitments and may restrict eligibility for customers who recently had TELUS Internet and Optik TV. Those conditions should not automatically be attributed to the PS5 campaign; obtain its specific terms.
How to verify the offer before signing up
- Open TELUS’ bundle builder.
- Enter your complete service address, including unit or apartment information.
- Select the Internet and Optik TV combination you would actually use.
- Check whether the PlayStation promotion appears as an available gift—not merely in the URL.
- Record the monthly price, speed, TV package, term, discounts, expiry date and any one-time charges.
- Ask TELUS to identify the exact PS5 model and explain delivery timing.
- Request the full promotion terms and service agreement.
- Make sure the PS5 appears in the order confirmation or promotional disclosure.
- Save screenshots, chats, emails and the agent’s name or reference number.
If the gift is absent from the written order, treat the deal as unconfirmed. A verbal assurance is not a substitute for the order documents.
Calculate the real 24-month cost
Compare the complete service commitment rather than subtracting an assumed console value from a headline price:
24-month bundle cost + taxes + installation/equipment charges + add-ons − confirmed discounts

Then compare it with:
24-month alternative Internet/TV cost + the cost of buying a PS5 independently

Separate the following line items:
- Internet and Optik TV monthly charges;
- unlimited-data fees, especially if they begin after a promotional period;
- equipment, installation, activation or shipping charges;
- premium channels and other add-ons;
- taxes;
- conditions attached to automatic-payment or mobility discounts; and
- any cancellation or equipment-return obligations.
Related TELUS offers distinguish between a guaranteed base rate and add-ons, premium content or other features that may change. Some related promotions also describe cancellation fees that decline during a 24-month term. Those examples do not establish the PS5 campaign’s exact amounts.
What happens if you cancel?
Early cancellation may involve Internet and TV cancellation charges, lost promotional credits, equipment-return requirements or unpaid balances. The PS5 promotion could also have its own repayment or clawback condition, but that was not visible in the retrieved public material.
Read the PS5-specific promotion terms and the service agreement for:
- the exact cancellation-fee formula;
- whether Internet and TV have separate commitments;
- whether the console must be repaid or returned;
- whether promotional credits are reversed; and
- what happens if TELUS cannot install the service or you move.
Who should consider the deal?
The offer may be sensible if TELUS provides the best service at your address, you genuinely want Optik TV, the monthly bundle price is competitive without counting an inflated PS5 value, and you expect to keep the service for the entire commitment.

Be cautious if you only want Internet, are renting or may move soon, receive slower non-fibre service, already own a PS5, or would be choosing a costly premium TV package solely to obtain the console. In those cases, compare TELUS’ Internet-only plans and the option of buying a console separately through PlayStation Direct Canada.
Consumer protection and documentation
The CRTC Internet Code requires providers to clearly explain key contract terms. If the signed contract does not match the offer, the CRTC says customers may be able to cancel within 45 days without paying fees, subject to the Code’s conditions.
Keep the advertisement, checkout screenshots, written promotion terms, order confirmation, contract, emails and chat transcripts. If the documents omit the PS5 or contradict the advertised package, contact TELUS promptly and document the complaint.
What TELUS has not made clear
- the complete qualifying province list;
- whether the offer was still active on August 18, 2026;
- the expiry date and inventory limit;
- the exact PS5 edition and accessories;
- the minimum Internet speed and Optik TV package;
- new-customer and existing-customer eligibility;
- delivery timing;
- taxes or shipping associated with the gift; and
- the PS5-specific consequences of early cancellation.
Those details must come from the address-specific checkout and written terms, not from unrelated TELUS promotions or social-media posts.

Bottom line: TELUS’ official commerce flow indicates that a free-PS5 Internet-and-Optik TV promotion existed, but the publicly indexed page does not confirm a current nationwide offer or disclose its full terms. Check your address, compare the total 24-month cost, and accept the deal only if the console model, qualifying services, fulfilment and cancellation conditions are written into your order.
