Who was the highest-rated player in FIFA 11?
Messi was the highest-rated player in the FIFA Index FIFA 11 archive, with an overall rating of 90. Guinness World Records also identifies Messi as FIFA 11’s top-rated player and gives both Cristiano Ronaldo and Casillas a rating of 89, corroborating the leading scores. How to read the ratings and positions
The archive lists 15,174 players, according to FIFA Index’s current FIFA 11 page accessed in 2026. Its overall rating places goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards on one shared scale. That makes the table useful for finding the game’s highest numbers, but it is not a position-adjusted comparison: a goalkeeper’s score and a striker’s score are ratings within the same game system, not proof that one would be better than the other on the pitch.

Position abbreviations in the database are GK (goalkeeper), CB (centre-back), RWB (right wing-back), CM (central midfielder), CAM (attacking midfielder), LM and RM (wide midfielders), LW and RW (wingers), ST (striker), and CF (centre-forward). These labels describe the listed role, not a separate ranking.

EA’s September 2010 FIFA Soccer 11 announcement described in-game player abilities and features intended to distinguish players. That is useful context for understanding the scores as part of game design; it does not establish that overall ratings objectively measure sporting quality or provide a method for comparing players across positions.

Accordingly, the fairest reading is narrow: these are the highest overall ratings in FIFA Index’s FIFA 11 archive, in its displayed order. They reflect a historical edition of the game, not current form or a timeless consensus about who football’s best players are.
