This is a historical guide to the nine monitors named in TechGuided’s February 12, 2022 roundup—not a current 2026 buying recommendation. The models cover high-refresh 1440p, 1080p at 360Hz, 4K, ultrawide and budget categories, but the original page contains model and specification inconsistencies. Treat its descriptions as leads, not verified specifications or evidence of today’s prices and availability.

Read TechGuided’s original 2022 roundup. Before buying any used, remaining-stock or similarly named display, confirm the exact model suffix and regional version against the manufacturer’s documentation.

Which 2022 monitor category fits your gaming setup?

The list is most useful as a snapshot of the choices gamers were weighing in 2022. Its intended categories suggest different priorities; they do not establish that any model remains the best choice or is still available.

Monitor named in the roundup Category or listed description What that category prioritizes
Samsung Odyssey G7 27-inch, 1440p, 240Hz, described as G-SYNC High refresh at 1440p, aiming to balance image detail and speed.
Acer Nitro XV272U 27-inch, 1440p, 270Hz, described as FreeSync High-refresh 1440p. The article’s discussion unexpectedly refers to the AORUS FI27Q, a different product name, so the precise model is unclear.
MSI Oculux NXG253R 25-inch, 1080p, 360Hz, described as G-SYNC Very high refresh for players who prioritize high frame rates in competitive games.
Acer Predator XB273K 27-inch, 4K, 144Hz, described as G-SYNC High-resolution play; 4K demands more rendering performance to reach high frame rates.
LG 38GL950G-B Ultrawide; body describes 38-inch and 3840 × 1600 More horizontal space and immersion. The original summary table conflicts with the body, listing 27 inches and 1440p.
ASUS VG278QR 27-inch, 1080p, 165Hz, described as budget and G-SYNC-ready A lower-cost category that retains a higher refresh rate than a basic office display; verify the meaning and compatibility of the sync label for the exact version.
ASUS TUF VG27AQL1A Honorable mention; described as 1440p and up to 170Hz An additional 1440p high-refresh option in the source’s list.
VIOTEK GFT27CXB Honorable mention; described as 1080p and 240Hz A listed 1080p high-refresh alternative.
Acer KG241Q Honorable mention; described as 24-inch, 1080p and 144Hz FreeSync A lower-cost category with a refresh rate above that of a basic office display.

All descriptions in this table come from TechGuided’s 2022 article; they have not been independently revalidated here. The source does not establish current prices, stock, exact regional suffixes, panel revisions or warranty terms for these models.

How to interpret G-SYNC, FreeSync and VRR

Variable refresh rate (VRR) lets a compatible display adjust its refresh timing to the incoming frame rate. That can help reduce tearing and improve perceived smoothness, but a product label by itself does not establish how well the feature works in a particular setup.

RTINGS’ G-SYNC testing distinguishes native G-SYNC from G-SYNC Compatible operation and considers refresh range and visual issues. Some FreeSync displays can also work with NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatibility, but the result depends on the exact monitor, GPU and connection. Tom’s Hardware explains that FreeSync builds on VESA Adaptive-Sync and that implementation and certification requirements vary. FreeSync and G-SYNC labels therefore should not be treated as interchangeable guarantees of identical features or behavior.

  • Confirm the full monitor model and suffix, not just the product family name.
  • Check the GPU and connection you plan to use against the monitor’s supported VRR modes.
  • Look for testing of the exact display’s VRR range and reported visual behavior rather than assuming all monitors with the same label perform alike.

What 360Hz does—and does not—tell you

A 360Hz refresh rate is a category for users seeking very high frame rates, particularly in competitive games. It is not by itself proof of a lower end-to-end system latency or a measurable gameplay advantage for every player.

NVIDIA’s account of its 360Hz G-SYNC displays describes dual-driver IPS panel technology intended to maintain response times and color levels at high refresh rates. NVIDIA also describes Reflex Latency Analyzer as measuring latency across the mouse, PC and display. These are NVIDIA’s descriptions of its technology, not independent comparative test results; they do not show that every 360Hz monitor uses that technology or that a display alone determines system latency.

What to check before buying one today

A historical roundup can help identify the kinds of displays shoppers compared, but it is not enough to choose a present-day purchase. TechGuided’s page is dated February 12, 2022, and some details conflict within the article itself. For example, its Acer Nitro XV272U discussion names an AORUS FI27Q, while its LG 38GL950G-B summary and body give different sizes and resolutions. Confirm the exact product identity and specifications with the manufacturer before relying on either entry.
