The central claim in the 2024 leak proved accurate: Microsoft now lists a 1TB all-digital Xbox Series X in Robot White on its U.S. product page. The old “coming soon” framing is out of date. The console is a current Series X model, not a new generation, and the official listing confirms the product—not every leaked detail about its hardware, name or launch timing.
What the original leak claimed
A March 30, 2024 Gizchina report described leaked images of a white console with the tall Series X shape and no disc drive. It also relayed speculation about a larger heatsink, a price $50–$100 below the then-current $499 Series X, and a possible 2024 release.
- White, disc-less Series X: The central product idea is now confirmed by Microsoft’s listing of a Robot White all-digital Series X.
- Larger heatsink: This was a leak-era claim; Microsoft’s current product page does not confirm it.
- Lower price: The reported $50–$100 reduction was speculation, not a confirmed price.
- 2024 timing: The report discussed a possible 2024 window, but the sources available do not establish an exact retail launch date.
So the leak was directionally right about the product, but that does not validate every detail attached to it.
What Microsoft officially lists
Microsoft’s U.S. Xbox Series X product page lists the Xbox Series X – 1TB Digital Edition in Robot White. The listing specifies a 1TB SSD and includes a Robot White Xbox Wireless Controller. Its U.S. ERP was shown as $599.99 in August 2026.

The listing identifies it as an Xbox Series X, with Xbox advertising Series X gaming at native 4K and up to 120 FPS. “All-digital” describes the lack of an optical disc drive; it does not mean this is a next-generation Xbox or a Series S. Xbox’s product page describes the Series S as a separate, smaller console.

The digital model is listed $50 below the 1TB Carbon Black disc model. That is the current U.S. ERP comparison, not proof of the rumored $50–$100 reduction from the older $499 launch price. Microsoft’s historical Xbox Series X fact sheet gives the original U.S. launch date as November 10, 2020 and launch price as $499. ERP is not necessarily a retailer’s checkout price: promotions, bundles, taxes and local availability can change what buyers pay.

What losing the disc drive means
The all-digital model is for games and other content accessed digitally, such as purchases, redeemed codes and supported subscriptions. It cannot read a physical Xbox game disc or UHD Blu-ray. On a disc-equipped model, a disc can provide the license or access path for a game; owning that disc does not give the digital edition a way to verify it.

- Digital purchases and subscriptions: The white model suits buyers whose libraries and new purchases are digital.
- Physical-game collections: Choose a disc model if you want to use Xbox discs, including compatible older titles, or buy, lend and resell physical games.
- Movies: Choose a disc model if UHD Blu-ray playback matters.
- Storage: The white edition is listed with a 1TB SSD. The 2TB Galaxy Black option offers more internal storage, but costs more; “1TB” is the advertised capacity, not a claim about usable installation space.
Is this the Brooklin console?
Earlier leaked Microsoft documents were reportedly associated with an all-digital refresh called “Brooklin,” and the 2024 report connected that codename to the rumored white Series X. Microsoft’s current product page confirms a retail 1TB all-digital Robot White Series X, but does not identify it as Brooklin or establish that every specification in the leaked documents carried over.

Choose the white digital model if your library is digital
If you do not use discs, the $50 difference from the listed 1TB Carbon Black model may be worth saving, and the Robot White finish may be your preference. The trade-off is that physical games and UHD Blu-ray are unavailable through this console.

Pay more for the disc model if you use physical media
The listed $50 premium for the 1TB Carbon Black Series X preserves access to compatible physical games and UHD Blu-ray. It can also matter if you shop used games, lend titles, collect boxed games or value resale options.
Consider 2TB if installed-library space is the priority
The 2TB Galaxy Black model is listed with a disc drive and twice the advertised storage of the 1TB editions, at a substantially higher U.S. ERP. It makes sense only if the extra capacity and disc drive justify the price for you.
