The ASTRO A50 X LIGHTSPEED is now listed in Mars Red on Logitech G’s Canadian and UK product pages. The color does not change what makes the headset distinctive: PLAYSYNC is designed to switch between Xbox, PS5 and PC or Mac from one headset. That makes the A50 X a strong choice for some multi-console setups, not an automatic best headset for every player.
What changes with the Mars Red A50 X?
The new color is a finish option for the ASTRO A50 X LIGHTSPEED headset and base station, not a newly announced hardware feature. Logitech G lists Mars Red on its Canadian product page and UK product page. Those listings reflect their respective regional stores; stock and pricing can change, so check the page for your market before ordering.
Why the A50 X suits a multi-system setup
Logitech says PLAYSYNC lets the A50 X connect wirelessly to Xbox, PS5 and PC or Mac, then switch among those systems with a button press. Its base station is part of that arrangement: Logitech describes HDMI 2.1 console connections and 4K at 120 Hz passthrough for Xbox and PS5. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test findings. See the Logitech G product page for the manufacturer’s feature and compatibility details.
This feature set matters most if you actually use more than one of the supported systems and want to move between them without treating each platform as a separate headset setup. If you mainly play on one device, PLAYSYNC and the console-focused base station may not justify choosing this model over a less elaborate option.

Is it still the best gaming headset?
“Best” depends on the job. GamesRadar’s guides published September 16 and September 21, 2026, respectively label the A50 X the best multiplatform gaming headset and best wireless multiplatform gaming headset. Those are editorial rankings for a particular use case—not proof that it is the best choice across budgets, platforms, or personal preferences. Read the context in GamesRadar’s best gaming headset guide and best wireless gaming headsets guide.
For a buyer, the practical question is whether switching among Xbox, PS5 and PC or Mac is valuable enough to warrant the A50 X’s local price. Compare the exact colorway and price in your market, confirm compatibility with the devices you use, and decide whether the base-station and HDMI features solve a real setup problem for you. The sources cited here do not establish a comprehensive head-to-head winner for all headset buyers.

Price, battery life and availability
Logitech’s US product page states a 24-hour battery life and displays $399.99 for its black listing. That price is not verified for the Mars Red version, and the battery figure is the manufacturer’s stated specification rather than an independent measurement. Check the US listing and your local Mars Red store page for current details. The Canadian and UK pages establish that Mars Red is listed in those markets, but not that the same stock or price applies elsewhere.
For context only, Logitech’s November 2023 launch announcement gave a $379.99 pre-order price and said shipping was expected in the first half of 2024. That is historical launch information, not a current Mars Red price.
