The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 with an RTX 3050 did sell for $699.99 in a reported May 2024 promotion. That was the FX507ZC-ES53, with a Core i5-12500H, 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 144Hz 1080p screen. Its availability at that price is not verified now, so treat “only $700” as a historical deal—not a live offer.
What the $700 deal actually included
The deal coverage identified the laptop as the 2022 ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX507ZC-ES53. The reported $699.99 price was a promotion, compared with a stated former price of $899.99; that comparison price is not proof of the model’s usual market value. Android Headlines’ May 2024 coverage and PCGuide’s deal listing describe this configuration:

Those details are specific to that model and promotion, not every laptop sold as a “TUF F15 RTX 3050.” ASUS’s TUF Gaming lineup spans multiple generations and configurations; check the complete model code on the listing and product label.
Is it really $700 now?
As of August 18, 2026, current new-retail availability of the FX507ZC-ES53 at $700 is not established by the available listings. An old deal page can continue circulating after its promotion ends. A marketplace asking price is not the same thing as a current new-retail offer.

For example, an OfferUp listing for $700 concerned a used FX507ZC4 with different specifications and was marked sold—not a new FX507ZC-ES53. The listing illustrates why both model number and condition matter. Do not infer that the historical Amazon promotion is still active from a repeated headline or a similar-looking F15 listing.
What gaming performance to expect
Esports and lighter games
The RTX 3050 laptop GPU is an entry-level 1080p gaming option. It is a more natural fit for esports and lighter games, where reduced graphics demands can let the 144Hz panel show its advantage. A 144Hz refresh rate means the panel can refresh up to 144 times per second; it does not mean every game will render at 144 frames per second.

Older and demanding games
Older titles and moderately demanding games are more realistic targets than new AAA games at high settings. In newer, heavier games, expect to lower presets or texture quality and use upscaling where supported. The laptop GPU’s 4GB of VRAM is a meaningful constraint: high-resolution textures, ray tracing and demanding scenes can exceed what this memory buffer handles comfortably. Deal coverage describes the machine as suitable for esports and lighter AAA play with settings adjusted, not as a high-settings system. GeekChamp’s coverage also uses the $700 headline, but that headline does not establish present availability.
Ray tracing and GPU comparisons
The RTX 3050 supports hardware ray tracing and DLSS features, but support does not guarantee a smooth experience at demanding settings. Ray tracing is usually a poor performance trade-off at this tier; prioritize a playable frame rate and image quality. Do not compare this laptop GPU directly with desktop RTX 3050 results: laptop performance depends on its power limit, cooling and operating conditions.

What to verify before paying
- Confirm the full model code. Look for FX507ZC-ES53 if the seller claims it is the historical deal configuration. “TUF F15” alone is not specific enough.
- Match the processor and GPU. The deal model used a Core i5-12500H and an RTX 3050 laptop GPU. Older FX506 models, including configurations with 10th- or 11th-generation processors, are not equivalent just because they share the F15 name.
- Check memory capacity and layout. The deal configuration had 16GB DDR4. Some F15 versions have 8GB; verify the exact listing and whether memory is installed as one module or two. Dual-channel memory can help performance, but the improvement varies by workload and configuration. One enthusiast review summary notes a frame-rate benefit from adding a second stick; it is not a universal benchmark guarantee.
- Verify the screen and storage. Confirm a 1080p, 144Hz panel and a 512GB SSD rather than assuming those specifications from the family name. A 512GB drive has less usable capacity than its advertised size, and several large games can consume much of it.
- Ask for the GPU power rating. If the seller or manufacturer provides a maximum GPU wattage, compare that figure. RTX 3050 laptop performance also varies with cooling, power sharing, operating mode, memory configuration, whether the laptop is plugged in, and display-output routing.
- Establish condition and protections. Confirm whether it is new, manufacturer-refurbished, open-box or used; check who sells it, warranty coverage, return period, included charger and any signs of damage. For a used unit, inspect the screen, keyboard, ports and battery condition where possible.
- Calculate the total cost. Include tax, shipping and any immediate memory or storage upgrade. Confirm a second M.2 slot exists before buying an SSD on the assumption that it will fit; F15 variants do not necessarily share the same layout.
If you plan to add RAM or open the chassis, verify the exact memory type, slot arrangement and warranty terms first. The historical promotion also reportedly included a 90-day Xbox Game Pass Ultimate trial, but that was a 2024 offer, not a benefit to assume today. Check any trial at checkout; the old coverage’s stated subscription price is not a current price quote. Xbox’s current Game Pass page is the place to check current plans and terms.

The 2024 coverage also reported MIL-STD-810H testing. That is a claim about testing against selected conditions, not a promise that any individual laptop is indestructible. Features and bundled software can vary by region and exact SKU, so verify them on the listing.

Should you choose it over a newer gaming laptop?
Compare the final price—not a claimed discount—with laptops using newer entry-level GPUs, especially RTX 4050 models, and check the exact GPU, memory, warranty and screen. An RTX 4050 laptop may be a better long-term buy if the price gap is small, but current model-by-model pricing is not established here. A historical review comparison suggested an RTX 4050 could offer a meaningful performance gain for roughly $100 more in some scenarios; that is not a live price comparison or a universal result. The comparison summary should not be treated as proof that a particular model is currently available at that premium.

As a practical rule, prefer the newer GPU when the actual listings are close in price and the newer machine has comparable memory, warranty and return terms. The old F15 makes more sense when it is substantially cheaper, has the full 16GB/512GB/144Hz configuration and meets your game requirements. Avoid paying a near-newer-GPU price simply because a listing advertises a discount from $899.99.

Who should buy this F15?
- Consider it: A buyer finds a verified, new FX507ZC-ES53 at $700 or less, with a meaningful warranty and return period, and mainly plays esports or less demanding games at 1080p.
- Inspect or negotiate carefully: The laptop is used or refurbished, its exact model or GPU power details are unclear, or the seller cannot substantiate its condition and warranty.
- Keep shopping: It has only 8GB RAM, an unidentified panel, a poor return policy, or a final cost close to a newer RTX 4050 system.
- Skip: An older FX506 model is presented as if it were the FX507ZC-ES53, or the seller cannot confirm the product identity.
