The 2024 Steam Spring Sale ran from March 14 to March 21, ending at 10 a.m. Pacific. The prices below are archived March 2024 offers—not current Steam prices—and are PC Gamer’s editorial picks, not a universal ranking. Valve said the event included discounts and demos on thousands of games, plus daily free sticker drops. Valve’s sale announcement and PC Gamer’s March 15 roundup provide the event details and selections.
How to read these archived deals
PC Gamer organized its selections by release year and price ceilings, while also noting discounts and, for selected games, whether a price matched or beat an earlier sale. That gives a more useful basis for comparison than discount percentage alone: a reader can weigh a game’s age, its price in their own storefront currency, its budget band, and its sale history. The prices below are shown separately in US dollars and UK pounds; they should not be compared across currencies or treated as current regional pricing.
The “best” picks here are editorial recommendations from that contemporaneous roundup. They are examples of what was on offer during the sale, not a complete list of discounted games.

Games under $25
Sons of the Forest
PC Gamer listed Sons of the Forest at $22.49 / £18.74, 25% off, during the sale. It is the clearest example in this selection for a buyer looking for a newer game below the $25 US price ceiling. That dollar threshold is only a US budget label; the UK price is listed separately.
Games under $10
Hollow Knight
At $7.49 / £6.39 and 50% off, Hollow Knight was a low-cost way into a well-established action-platformer during the event.

What Remains of Edith Finch
The narrative adventure was listed at $4.99 / £3.99, 75% off. That was the deepest discount among the representative low-cost examples in the roundup.
Games under $5
Vampire Survivors
At $3.99 / £3.19 with 20% off, Vampire Survivors was the lowest-priced example in the table. Its smaller percentage cut than the 75% reduction on Edith Finch illustrates why it helps to look at both the amount saved and the final price.

Notable games that were not cheap
A lower price ceiling does not necessarily make a deal a poor value. Baldur’s Gate 3 was $53.99 / £44.99 at 10% off; its discount was relatively small, but it was one of the roundup’s notable picks. Hades, by contrast, combined a 50% reduction with a $12.49 / £10.49 price, sitting above the strict $10 US band.
Was Elden Ring on sale?
No. PC Gamer’s roundup reported that Elden Ring was not discounted during the March 2024 Steam Spring Sale. Its absence is a useful reminder that a large seasonal event does not mean every popular game receives a price cut.
