Which Grasshopper game is best for beginners?
Choose No More Heroes for the clearest series starting point
If you want action and a memorable central character, begin with No More Heroes. Grasshopper’s official page calls it “the genesis of the No More Heroes series!” and centers the premise on Travis Touchdown’s climb through the assassin rankings. Marvelous’ game page also describes combat alongside side jobs, training, and exploration.
The original Grasshopper catalog entry identifies a Wii release, while Marvelous presents the game separately on its own page. Those listings do not guarantee which edition is currently available where you live, so check your platform’s store for the exact version before buying.

Choose The Silver Case for a narrative-first introduction
If you would rather follow an unconventional story than sample the studio through action, The Silver Case is the more fitting first choice. Grasshopper’s official description calls it the company’s first title and explains its two perspectives, Transmitter and Placebo. They can be played separately or alternated, making perspective and presentation part of the appeal.

Choose Hella Remastered for action-adventure
Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered is a reasonable option if you want an action-adventure rather than the assassin premise of No More Heroes or the story-first approach of The Silver Case. Grasshopper’s catalog page calls the original a 2011 “Hell-traversing ‘road movie action-adventure game’” and lists the remaster for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, and Steam.
The catalog names NetEase Entertainment Interactive as publisher. Check the platform, region, and digital or physical edition in the listing you intend to buy; the platform list is not evidence of edition-specific performance or current stock.

Should you start with The Silver Case 2425 or No More Heroes III?
The Silver Case 2425 combines two narrative adventures
If you want a package containing more of the story-led side of Grasshopper’s catalog, the official catalog entry for The Silver Case 2425 says it includes both The Silver Case and The 25th Ward: The Silver Case. Its listed platforms and dates are specific to the catalog’s territory and version, so confirm the edition available to you.
No More Heroes III is a later Travis Touchdown option
No More Heroes III is a later numbered entry, rather than the clearest first stop if you are choosing where to begin a series. Marvelous’ official page describes Travis’s return and the Galactic Superhero Rankings. Pick it when you specifically want that later Travis Touchdown game; the cited description does not provide detailed continuity guidance.

How to choose and verify the right edition
- Pick your preferred style. Choose No More Heroes for eccentric action, The Silver Case for story and presentation, or Hella Remastered for action-adventure.
- Decide whether you want a series beginning or a later entry. No More Heroes is identified by Grasshopper as the series’ genesis; No More Heroes III is the third numbered game.
- Check the exact platform and edition. Grasshopper’s catalog lists platforms for Hella Remastered, but availability and physical or digital formats can vary by region and store. An older release listing should not be treated as a current availability guarantee.
- Check the credits for the specific version. Developer, publisher, and remaster involvement can differ between games and versions; do not assume every title associated with Grasshopper was developed or published by it in the same way.
Grasshopper credits are not interchangeable
A studio name associated with a game does not settle who developed, published, or handled a later remaster.
