Storage was the clearest Nintendo Switch 2 accessory bargain in the Black Friday 2025 coverage available for this guide. A Lexar Play Pro 256GB microSD Express card was reported at $49, while a Samsung 256GB card was announced at a future $40 price. Selected first-party accessories—including Joy-Con 2, the Switch 2 Pro Controller, the Switch 2 Camera and Joy-Con 2 Wheels—were available from retailers, but were not uniformly or heavily discounted.
Because Black Friday 2026 has not yet occurred, the prices below are historical 2025 reference points, not live 2026 deals. Use them as benchmarks when checking retailer listings later in the year.
Quick verdict
Buy a 256GB microSD Express card first if you expect to download games. Buy extra Joy-Con 2 controllers or a Pro Controller only for a clear multiplayer or docked-play need. Treat cameras, wheels and premium first-party accessories as optional rather than essential.

The most important compatibility warning: buy microSD Express
Switch 2 storage expansion requires a microSD Express card according to the available reporting. Do not assume that a regular microSDXC card made for the original Nintendo Switch will work as Switch 2 expansion storage.
Before ordering, check the exact product page for:
- The words “microSD Express” in the product name or specifications.
- The correct capacity and model number.
- Explicit Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility where available.
- A reputable seller, clear return policy and warranty coverage.
Brand and capacity alone are not enough. A discounted 256GB card marketed merely as “Nintendo Switch compatible” may be the wrong product.
Which capacity should you buy?
256GB is the practical value baseline in the available Black Friday coverage. It is the sensible starting point for owners who download games but do not maintain a very large digital library.

Consider 512GB if you routinely buy digital releases, keep several large games installed or want to avoid managing storage. However, the supplied evidence does not verify a current 512GB Black Friday price, so do not call one a bargain without checking its normal street price and price history.

The available testing summary found similar real-game performance among tested microSD Express models, making the lowest reputable in-stock price the sensible choice.
What the historical prices really mean
The strongest reported opportunities were:
- Lexar Play Pro 256GB: $49, described as $11 off. That is a meaningful saving if the normal price was stable, but it is not evidence that every Switch 2 accessory was deeply discounted.
- Samsung 256GB: a reported $40 price expected on November 30, 2025, representing a stated $20 reduction from MSRP. This was an announced future promotion, not necessarily a price that was live at the time of the original report.
- SanDisk 256GB: $60, described in the 2025 report as a record low at that time. That label should be attributed to the report and dated, not presented as an independently verified all-time low.
For Black Friday 2026, compare any advertised price with the product’s normal street price immediately before the sale. A large-looking saving against an inflated list price is a weak deal. Also check whether the price requires a coupon, membership, bundle, specific payment method or checkout promotion.

Which official accessories are worth buying?
Joy-Con 2
Extra Joy-Con 2 controllers make sense for families and local multiplayer. They are unnecessary for a solo player who is satisfied with the controllers included with the console. Confirm that the listing is for the Joy-Con 2 generation, not original Switch Joy-Con.
Switch 2 Pro Controller
The Pro Controller is the strongest official-accessory choice for primarily docked players or anyone who prefers a conventional gamepad. It is less compelling for a handheld-focused owner. Buy it on sale only after confirming the markdown against its usual selling price.

The camera is a use-case purchase. It is relevant to games and features that support the Switch 2 camera, but it is poor value if no game you own uses it. The historical coverage identified it as an available accessory, not a confirmed Black Friday discount.

- Skip the camera and wheels unless a particular game gives you a reason to use them.
Family or multiplayer household
- Prioritize additional Joy-Con 2 controllers.
- Add Joy-Con 2 Wheels if racing games are a regular activity.
- Consider a protective case that accommodates the console and controllers.
Primarily docked player
- Prioritize the Switch 2 Pro Controller.
- Add microSD Express storage for a growing digital library.

- Buy a case explicitly designed for Switch 2.
- Add a compatible screen protector.
- Get a microSD Express card if you download games.

- Inspect the seller and whether the product is new, refurbished, imported or used.
- Review stock, delivery date, return window and warranty.
- Compare Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop and the official Nintendo accessories page, without treating any retailer listing as a confirmed deal until the price is verified.
- Keep the order confirmation in case a volatile promotion changes or a substitute item is shipped.
Nintendo’s own sale versus retailer promotions
The 2025 Nintendo holiday promotion reportedly emphasized console bundles and older Switch games rather than broad discounts on Switch 2 accessories. The cited coverage described a $449 console-only price and $499 bundles with games such as Mario Kart World or Pokémon Legends: Z-A; those bundles are console value, not accessory discounts.
Third-party retailers were the more likely source of accessory markdowns. That distinction matters: a retailer’s sale on a Samsung card or controller is not necessarily part of Nintendo’s official promotion.

When should you buy?
Buy a verified deal when it meets your compatibility and use-case requirements and is meaningfully below the recent normal price. For storage, a reputable 256GB microSD Express card at or below the strongest historical benchmark is more compelling than waiting for a particular brand.
If the discount is modest, the seller is unclear or the product is not immediately needed, wait for Cyber Monday or a retailer price match. The 2025 eShop Cyber Deals were reported to run from November 20 through December 3, but those dates must not be assumed for 2026.
Check the Nintendo store and retailer search pages for current 2026 information only when the promotion is announced. Historical deal pages such as the 2025 SanDisk report are useful benchmarks, not live price sources.
