What’s actually slowing this PC down?

If you want a PC game with plenty of community-made content and ways to find it, start with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for catalogue breadth or Baldur’s Gate 3 for integrated official mod support. Stardew Valley and Fallout 4 are also strong candidates; Cyberpunk 2077 is worth exploring. There is no single fair “most active” winner: the available figures come from different platforms and measure different things.
What makes a modding community active?
A large lifetime download total is only one sign of community activity. To compare games usefully, consider several separate signals:
- Depth: the number and range of available mods and collections.
- Recency: whether files are still being added or updated. A dated recent upload is a snapshot, not proof of a long-term rate.
- Participation: visible discussion on community forums. Forum activity represents that platform, not every player or modder.
- Access and tools: whether the game has an official mod browser or toolkit, or relies more on community tools and external sites.
- Compatibility: how much attention players may need to give to game versions and installation. The figures here do not establish a comparative compatibility ranking.
Keep platform measures separate. Nexus Mods catalogue totals, forum listings, mod.io downloads and Steam Workshop counts do not share one counting method, so they cannot be combined into a reliable universal leaderboard.
Best PC games to explore for active modding
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition — the clearest pick for breadth
For a deep catalogue and an established collection ecosystem, Skyrim Special Edition has the strongest evidence in this shortlist. Nexus Mods’ game page displays about 140,500 mods and about 4,800 collections. Its categories listing gives a more precise live snapshot of 140,896 mods and 796,591 files, accessed October 3, 2026; category pages include files dated that same day. Counts vary between Nexus page views and change over time, so treat them as platform-specific snapshots rather than fixed totals. Nexus Mods: Skyrim Special Edition and its categories listing.

Nexus also offers collections, and presents Vortex as a collection manager. That can make curated setups easier to explore than selecting every mod individually, though it does not remove the need to check a collection’s requirements and compatibility. Nexus Mods: Vortex.
Baldur’s Gate 3 — the strongest official route
Baldur’s Gate 3 stands out if you value integrated access. Larian says Patch 7 introduced an in-game Mod Manager and a downloadable Toolkit for PC players. Its Community Update #35, published August 5, 2025, reported that since official mod support began in September 2024, players had uploaded over 8,500 mods to mod.io and reached 265 million mod downloads. Those are Larian’s figures for its official mod-support route at that time—not a current live total or a directly comparable count against Nexus Mods. - 【7-Point Precision Support – Total Body Relief】Extended sitting takes a toll on more than just your back. JECQCUPG engineered a complete 7-point support system that addresses seven critical zones: head, neck, shoulders, back, lumbar, hips, and legs. Each zone receives targeted pressure distribution to encourage proper spinal alignment and steady blood flow. The headrest and lumbar cushion adjust independently to fit heights from 120cm to 190cm. Whether you're locked into a gaming session or grinding through work hours, this system keeps fatigue at bay so you stay sharp and comfortable.
- 【51cm Wingless Seat – Sit Any Way You Like】Narrow seats with bulky side bolsters force your legs into unnatural positions. JECQCUPG removes those barriers with a flat, wingless cushion that spans a full 51cm – a full 13cm wider than the typical 38cm effective seat width found on standard chairs. The generous surface invites you to sit cross-legged, sideways, or however feels natural. High-density, high-rebound foam filling resists flattening, so your hips and thighs enjoy consistent cushioning without annoying pressure points. Comfort that adapts to you, not the other way around.
- 【Sofa-Grade Cushioning – Foam Meets Pocket Springs】Most gaming chairs rely on a single layer of foam that breaks down within months. JECQCUPG takes a smarter approach: dual-layer high-density foam paired with durable pocket springs – a construction borrowed from premium sofas. This combination delivers a plush yet supportive feel that cradles your body while preventing bottoming-out. The breathable PU leather cover resists scratches, wipes clean in seconds, and holds its shape through years of daily use. It's the kind of comfort that makes you forget you're sitting in an office chair.
- 【Synchronized Armrests + 3 Recline Angles】Three optimized angles – 90° for focused work, 110° for casual browsing, and 135° for full relaxation – give you the flexibility to switch postures throughout the day. But JECQCUPG goes further: the armrests are synchronized to tilt automatically with the backrest. Your arms stay supported at every recline angle, preventing shoulder strain and awkward positioning. The seat height adjusts up to 10cm, accommodating everyone from teenagers to tall adults. One chair, three modes, endless comfort.
- 【Steel-Reinforced Build – 150kg Capacity, Easy Assembly】Flimsy frames lead to squeaks, wobbles, and premature failure. JECQCUPG is built around a one-piece steel frame and a reinforced 5-star base – with steel thickness 3mm greater than most competing models. Tested to support 150kg, it offers a stable, secure sit for users ranging from 120cm to 185cm. Smooth-gliding, floor-friendly casters roll silently across any surface. Assembly is quick and frustration-free thanks to clear illustrated instructions and a complete tool set. Backed by responsive customer support – we've got you covered from unboxing to everyday use.
Stardew Valley — a community-recognized choice
Stardew Valley appears in Nexus Mods’ game catalogue and community forum listings, making it a reasonable choice for players looking for community-made additions. Those listings establish a modding presence, but the available figures do not provide a current official mod count or cross-platform activity total. Nexus Mods’ game catalogue and Nexus Mods forums.
Fallout 4 — a substantial Nexus presence
Fallout 4 is another strong candidate, with a notable share of activity on Nexus Mods. GameDiscoverCo’s 2025 chart assigns it 6% of Nexus Mods’ 2025 downloads, worldwide, PC only, including updates. That is a share of downloads on one platform, not a share of all Fallout 4 modding or all players’ activity. GameDiscoverCo’s 2025 UGC chart.

Cyberpunk 2077 — a worthwhile additional option
Cyberpunk 2077 appears in Nexus Mods’ game and forum listings, so it belongs among the games worth exploring. Why there is no definitive all-platform ranking
The strongest numbers in this comparison describe different things: Nexus’ live Skyrim catalogue, Larian’s historical mod.io milestone, and Fallout 4’s share of Nexus downloads during 2025. They do not measure the same period, platform or kind of activity. GameDiscoverCo’s chart also describes Nexus UGC downloads as concentrated among a small number of titles; its stated platform-wide denominator is 15 billion lifetime mod downloads, worldwide, PC only, including updates. Neither that denominator nor Fallout 4’s share should be mistaken for total modding activity across all services.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- 【Targeted Support for Neck & Lower Back】 Extended periods of sitting often result in spinal fatigue and muscular discomfort. Riftracer incorporates two adjustable cushions – one for the cervical spine and one for the lumbar region – allowing precise positioning along your natural curvature. Unlike generic foam pads, these cushions adapt to your unique body shape and height. The outcome is a significantly reduced pressure profile, enabling longer, more comfortable work or gaming sessions without cumulative strain.
- 【52cm Wingless Cushion – Freedom Without Sacrifice】 Many high-back gaming chairs impose rigid side bolsters that confine natural movement. Riftracer replaces this restrictive design with a wingless 51cm-wide seat. The high-density, high-rebound foam core maintains its structural integrity over years of regular use. This generous width permits various sitting postures – conventional, cross-legged, or relaxed – while eliminating pressure points on the hips and thighs. The result is a sofa-like seating experience suitable for a wide range of body types.
- 【All-Steel Construction – Built to Last】 Durability and stability are non-negotiable for a premium seating solution. Riftracer is constructed with a full steel chassis, an integrated one-piece steel frame, and a reinforced 5-star base. The steel thickness is 3mm greater than industry standard for gaming chairs. Validated through rigorous 150kg (330 lbs) load testing. The fully enclosed caster wheels deliver silent, frictionless movement across all floor surfaces. No squeaking. No wobbling. No distractions.
- 【Seamless Transition Between Work, Game & Rest】 Adaptability is essential for users who shift between multiple activities. The backrest adjusts smoothly from 95° to 135° with secure locking at any angle. Deploy the retractable footrest to instantly create a resting position. The pneumatic height adjustment provides up to 10cm of range, comfortably accommodating children, teenagers, and adults. Whether engaged in focused work, competitive gaming, or a brief nap, the chair adapts to your needs.
- 【Straightforward Assembly & Reliable After-Sales Support】 Assembly is simplified with a 5-language illustrated manual and a comprehensive video installation guide. Extra screws and commonly replaced components are included as a precaution against accidental loss. Should any questions or issues arise, our professional customer support team is available 24/7 to provide timely assistance. Backed by a commitment to quality and service.
