The Boba Teashop – Refill, a first-person psychological horror game about working at a boba shop, is announced for a 2027 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. No exact release date has been announced. The game follows Maya, a financially pressured young woman who takes a job at a new branch of Risa’s shop, where ordinary customer service routines grow increasingly unsettling.
When is The Boba Teashop – Refill coming out?
The announced launch window is 2027. The October 1, 2026 announcement names PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, with Steam and the Epic Games Store identified as PC storefronts. The official PlayStation Store listing currently gives the release date as to be determined, while the Epic Games Store listing marks the Windows game as Coming Soon. These storefront statuses do not provide a day or month for launch.
What is the game about?
Players take the role of Maya, a young woman under financial pressure who accepts a job at a newly opened branch of Risa’s boba business. The shop’s warm lights, colorful drinks, and familiar sounds set up a contrast with difficult customers, negative reviews, uncomfortable conversations, strange noises, and routines that begin to feel wrong.
The work itself is hands-on: players take orders, follow recipes, add tea, milk, boba, and other ingredients, seal drinks, and serve customers. The developer interview also describes cleaning the shop and trying to keep customers happy. Those service tasks provide the everyday rhythm against which the psychological horror builds.

Is Refill a sequel, and do you need to play the original?
The developers describe Refill as a standalone story in the world of the original The Boba Teashop, not a direct sequel or recreation. It has a new protagonist, Maya, and a new location: another branch of Risa’s shop. The developers say players do not need prior knowledge of the original to follow this story.
According to the developers’ interview, the story spans one week. Storefront descriptions more generally refer to multiple workdays, so the more precise one-week span comes from the interview rather than the store copy.
