Is The Duskbloods exclusive to Switch 2?
Yes. FromSoftware announced The Duskbloods for Nintendo Switch 2 on April 2, 2025, and Nintendo’s US store listing identifies the game as exclusive to that system. The announcement describes a worldwide release in 2026. FromSoftware’s announcement notes that information was accurate when issued and may change.

When does The Duskbloods come out?
Nintendo’s US listing, checked October 8, 2026, still gives the release year as 2026 without a specific day or month. The reviewed official pages do not establish a price or confirm a physical cartridge edition; Nintendo’s US listing labels the edition digital. Nintendo’s US store page is the listing for those details.
What kind of game is The Duskbloods?
FromSoftware calls it an online multiplayer action game built around PvPvE: players fight one another while also facing enemies controlled by the game. The studio says up to eight players can compete online. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki described multiplayer as the game’s core in Nintendo’s April 4, 2025 interview.

How matches work
Miyazaki said players select and customise a character in a hub before entering a match, then return to the hub afterward and receive a reward whether they win or lose. Matches are generally last-player-standing, but not all use the same victory condition: some objectives involve cooperating to defeat a powerful boss. Victory Points can be earned through direct combat or more opportunistic play, and events may change the environment, rewards, or objectives.
These are the director’s descriptions of the design, not independent hands-on findings. The official materials do not provide a complete explanation of match rules or how individual events work.

Who are the Bloodsworn?
Players control the Bloodsworn, superhuman characters whose abilities come from special blood. Miyazaki described more than a dozen selectable characters, each with a distinct identity and appearance, along with some degree of customisation. He also described settings spanning different times and places, including Gothic or Victorian-style environments and locations from later historical periods.
Why is The Duskbloods being made for Switch 2?
Miyazaki said the project began with a small team working on a Nintendo Switch version. As Switch 2 took shape, FromSoftware shifted development to account for the newer hardware. In his account, that change let the team focus more on online play and stay closer to its original vision. This explains the development direction; it is not a measured claim about the console’s performance.

What do you need to play online?
Nintendo’s US listing says online features require internet access, a Nintendo Account, and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. It also lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play. Online terms can vary by region, so check the store listing for your country.
