The first Game Pass announcement for October 2024 named Sifu and Inscryption, but they arrived on different dates: Sifu was listed for October 2, and Inscryption for October 10. Xbox Wire published the announcement on October 1, 2024; it is a historical lineup, not the October 2026 schedule.
When were Sifu and Inscryption coming to Game Pass?
In its October 1, 2024 Game Pass announcement, Xbox listed Sifu for October 2 and Inscryption for October 10. Both were listed for Cloud, Console, and PC, and for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard.
| Game | Listed date | Platforms | Plans listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sifu | October 2, 2024 | Cloud, Console, PC | Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard |
| Inscryption | October 10, 2024 | Cloud, Console, PC | Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard |
How do the two games differ?
Sifu: martial-arts brawling
Sifu is a third-person brawler focused on Kung Fu combat and a revenge story. Xbox Wire’s Megan Spurr described it as a “realistic third-person brawler with tight Kung Fu combat mechanics and cinematic martial arts action.”
Inscryption: cards, puzzles, and horror
Inscryption blends card-based deckbuilding and roguelike elements with escape-room puzzles and psychological horror. Spurr characterized it as an “inky black card-based odyssey” combining those styles. In practical terms, the announcement presented a contrast between direct martial-arts action and a card-and-puzzle horror experience.

- Open Roads: Console, October 2; labeled Game Pass Standard.
- Mad Streets: Cloud, Console, and PC, October 7; listed for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard.
