The game hotfix changes the game; the Radeon package changes the driver. AMD’s listed optimization is not a guarantee that every Radeon system will see a particular improvement, and this old driver entry does not establish which driver is current for your card today.
What changed after the March hotfix
Several later releases added fixes and features. Their work should not be attributed to v1.0.1.5.

May 2023: v1.0.5.0
Naughty Dog’s v1.0.5.0 notes, published May 9, 2023, list shorter shader-building times, a global CPU performance optimization, performance work across levels and improved level loading. The notes also said that, at that time, AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.4.3 included a fix for longer-than-expected shader compilation in the game. These are later changes, not part of the March hotfix.
2024: FSR 3 support
The v1.1.3 patch notes added AMD FSR 3 Super Resolution and FSR 3 Frame Generation.

July 2025: v1.1.5
The latest version established in the official patch notes reviewed here is v1.1.5, dated July 3, 2025. It lists various performance optimizations, crash fixes and stability improvements, improved audio on certain Steam Deck configurations, and FSR 4 support for compatible Radeon GPUs. It also says the game now displays the FSR version based on driver information. The notes do not quantify a general performance gain.
Which update should you install?
For a current PC setup, use the game’s available update and choose a Radeon driver through AMD’s official support page for your exact GPU and operating system. The March 2023 driver is useful for identifying the release mentioned in the headline, but the available evidence does not show it is the latest driver now. Driver versions and hardware compatibility can change, so check AMD’s current listing rather than relying on an old release number.

If you are troubleshooting shader compilation, loading, crashes or performance, make sure the game and driver are up to date before assessing the result. The official notes describe changes across multiple releases, but they do not establish that a specific patch resolves every issue on every PC.
