Archived deal: The $30 Meta cash promotion for the 256GB Meta Quest 3S Batman: Arkham Shadow bundle was real, but it was a limited holiday 2024 offer—not a current deal. Laptop Mag reported the promotion on December 19, 2024, with an advertised deadline of December 31, 2024. Buyers should not assume a Quest 3S listing in 2026 still includes the credit.
What the original deal included
The reported offer applied specifically to the 256GB Meta Quest 3S Batman: Arkham Shadow Bundle, sold through Meta for a historical price of $399. In addition to the headset, buyers received:
- Meta Quest 3S headset with 256GB of storage
- Two Touch Plus controllers
- AA batteries and wrist straps
- Batman: Arkham Shadow as a digital game entitlement
- A three-month Meta Quest+ trial
- $30 in Meta/Quest cash during the separate holiday promotion
The $30 offer was reported by Laptop Mag. It was not a $30 price reduction and was not money that could be withdrawn from the account.
How the $30 Meta cash worked
Meta cash was intended for purchases in Meta’s digital storefront, such as Quest games and apps. The original coverage suggested examples including Beat Saber, Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, NFL Pro Era, The Thrill of the Fight, GOLF+, and Among Us VR. It also mentioned using the credit toward a discounted holiday starter kit containing Synth Riders, Job Simulator, Walkabout Mini Golf, Demeo, and Moss.

Those were examples from December 2024, not current prices or guaranteed current availability. The credit was most valuable to someone who already planned to buy software through the Meta Quest store. It had little practical value for someone using the headset mainly for PC VR, media, or non-Meta fitness software.
“Meta cash,” “Quest cash,” and “store credit” should not automatically be treated as identical terms. Buyers should read the exact wording of any new promotion shown at checkout.

The Batman game, Quest+ trial, and cash were separate benefits

GameSpot’s launch coverage reported the broader Batman bundle and its April 30, 2025 purchase deadline. That deadline should not be confused with the earlier $30 cash deadline.

Which Quest models were involved?
The reported $30 promotion specifically concerned the 256GB Quest 3S. It should not be generalized to every Quest 3S purchase or every retailer.

Was the Quest 3S a good buy?
For a first-time VR buyer during the 2024 holiday period, the package was compelling: the headset used the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 platform and 8GB of RAM associated with Quest 3, included a major exclusive game, offered a Quest+ trial, and added store credit for buyers likely to purchase more games.

The 3S uses Fresnel lenses, has a narrower field of view and lower display resolution, and lacks the Quest 3’s depth sensor. What to check when buying old stock in 2026
An old listing may still use “Batman: Arkham Shadow bundle” packaging without offering the expired $30 credit. Before buying, check:
- Promotion wording: Do not rely on an old headline or product image. The seller should show a current offer explicitly.
- Activation status: Used, refurbished, returned, open-box, or previously activated units may not qualify.
- Game entitlement: Posted terms said the activating account could not previously have been entitled to Batman: Arkham Shadow.
- Redemption method: The terms described account, mobile-app, email, or VR notifications rather than a physical game code.
- Quest+ renewal: A valid payment method was required, and the trial could renew at the then-current price plus tax unless canceled in time.
- Seller and returns: Prefer Meta or a reputable retailer with a clear return policy over marketplace listings making unsupported cash claims.
- Price: Compare the total price with a current Quest 3S or Quest 3 offer. Do not pay extra for a $30 benefit that has already expired.
Bottom line
The $30 Meta cash offer was a genuine, limited holiday bonus reported for the 256GB Quest 3S Batman bundle in December 2024. It was separate from the included Batman game and three-month Quest+ trial, and it should not be advertised as available now. In 2026, choose between the Quest 3S’s lower-cost entry point and the Quest 3’s superior lenses, then judge any old Batman bundle by its current price and clearly verified benefits—not by the expired $30 promotion.
