To start Above and Beyond Repair, choose Acquisitions Officer Kaur over Minister Milverstreet during The Saboteur of Paradise in Fairfield. At the Automech Repair Center (ARC), close both intake conduits before shutting down Zyranium flow to save the facility; leave either conduit open and shut down the flow to sabotage it. These choices determine which quest completes and which reward set you receive.
Start Kaur’s quest in Fairfield
During The Saboteur of Paradise, speak with Minister Milverstreet and Acquisitions Officer Kaur. Decline Milverstreet’s offer and accept Kaur’s job to open this route. Game8 reports that the choice is mutually exclusive: taking Kaur’s job locks out Milverstreet’s A Refreshing Bit of News and its follow-up. Game8’s walkthrough describes this branch.
Get inside the Automech Repair Center
Game8 lists three ways to enter: use an access card, pass skill checks, or force your way in. Its access-card route begins at the Ministry of Accuracy on Paradise Island. The exact method available to you depends on your character and choices; the guides do not establish one required entry route.
Reach the first conduit by the hangar route
In Gamerpillar’s route through the Primary Repair Hangar, follow the left wall, open the room on the right and deal with its enemy. Climb the boxes to the upper platform, cross the broken yellow pipes, use the ladder and enter the next room to reach the first conduit switch. Gamerpillar’s walkthrough gives this platforming route.

Make the gas shield before crossing Zyranium
The Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus provides temporary protection in Zyranium-contaminated areas. Interact with the partially completed gadget on Delphinia Bryant’s desk. Game8 says you can complete it with a Catalytic Amplifier or by passing the Science! 2 check.
Ways to get the Catalytic Amplifier
- Take it from a disabled Dragoon near a Crabble nest.
- Pass a Leadership 2 or Speech 3 check with Chief Mechanist Woodrow.
- If you lack those checks, read the “SUBJECT: Woodrow” log on Marshal Donelson’s terminal, then use the information to persuade Woodrow.
- With Science! 4, ask Delphinia about an alternative and retrieve a Holo-Emitter in Fairfield.
Game8 warns that attempting assembly without the amplifier or Science! 2 can cause a malfunction that makes the repair require both Science! and the amplifier. This is the guide’s reported warning, not an independently verified mechanic. See Game8’s quest walkthrough for its item and check details.

Choose whether to repair or sabotage the ARC
The outcome hinges on the two intake conduits when you initiate the Zyranium flow shutdown. Close both to save the facility; if one or both remain open, shutting down the flow sabotages it. The guides describe route-specific details, so don’t treat every traversal instruction as one guaranteed sequence.
Repair the ARC
Gamerpillar’s repair route has you reach the first switch from the upper floor, then use the Trust Booster to cross a broken path to the second conduit switch. Close both conduits, return by the floor vent to the flow-control room, and select “Initiate Zyranium Flow Shutdown.”

Sabotage the ARC
In Game8’s sabotage route, reach the terminal in the contaminated facility and select “Seal Room & Vent Gas,” then “Initiate Zyranium Flow Shutdown.” Game8 says to ignore the warnings if you intend to sabotage; leaving either intake conduit open when you shut down the flow produces that outcome.
