Who sells it, and what happens if you return it?

Although the product is listed on Target.com, the offer is marked sold and shipped by BlueAcorn Company. Target’s listing advertises free returns within 30 days and says the item can be returned to a Target store. It also displays a one-year limited warranty. Those details are listed on the Target product page; confirm the final return instructions and warranty provider and exclusions before ordering, since the page identifies the seller as a marketplace partner and notes that partner-supplied details may not be complete or fully accurate.

Shipping exclusions apply to Alaska, Hawaii, and several U.S. territories. Taxes and any checkout-specific conditions will also affect the final amount.

What the Pocket 5 offers

Retroid’s manufacturer specifications describe a midrange Android handheld built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and Adreno 650 graphics. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display running at 60Hz, 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. A compatible microSD/TF card can add storage. See Retroid’s Pocket 5 specifications for the manufacturer’s details; they are more precise than the Target marketplace description.

  • Android 13, with official OTA update support listed by Retroid.
  • 5,000mAh battery and active cooling.
  • Hall-effect 3D sticks and analog L2/R2 triggers.
  • Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

The bundle includes a tempered-glass screen protector. Target’s listing says no games come preloaded, so this is not a plug-and-play console with an included game library. It also does not establish that a carrying case or grip is included. Buyers should use software and game files they are entitled to use.

Is $259.99 a good price compared with buying from Retroid?

It is a real $40 reduction from Target’s stated $299.99 comparison price, but that does not make it the lowest Pocket 5 price. Retroid’s official pages have shown a standard model at $209 and a refurbished unit at $156; both were marked sold out in the captured listings. These are different conditions and availability from Target’s new bundle, and the official-store figures may not include shipping or reflect current stock. Check the official Pocket 5 page and Retroid handheld collection for current offers before treating them as buyable alternatives.

Regional versions are not interchangeable price comparisons: Retroid’s U.K. page showed £199 and its Canada page showed C$209, each reduced from a region-specific listed price and marked sold out in the captured pages. See the U.K. listing and Canada listing for their regional details.

Should you spend more on the Retroid Pocket 6?

The Pocket 6 is a meaningful alternative if performance headroom matters more than the Pocket 5’s lower Target price. Retroid lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Adreno 740, 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen at 120Hz, a 6,000mAh battery, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.3. Its official page showed a $244 price signal, while Target’s product grid showed Pocket 6 listings around $319.99–$329.99. Those figures are not directly comparable without confirming each configuration, seller, stock, shipping, and final checkout price. See the Retroid Pocket 6 listing and Target’s Retroid Pocket listings.

Choose based on the actual delivered prices and what you play. The Pocket 5’s Snapdragon 865 specification suits buyers looking at retro systems, Android games, indie games, or streaming, but the supplied specifications do not establish performance for every emulator or title. The Pocket 6’s newer processor and 120Hz display offer more headroom on paper; whether that is worth the price difference depends on current stock and your workload.

Who should buy the Pocket 5 at Target?

  • Consider it if you want a new 5.5-inch Android handheld now, value the included screen protector, and prefer Target’s stated 30-day return route over waiting for an official-store restock.
  • Compare first if your priority is the lowest possible price: Retroid has shown cheaper standard and refurbished offers, but the captured examples were sold out.
  • Look at the Pocket 6 if demanding Android games, newer hardware, or a 120Hz screen matter enough to justify a higher confirmed final price.
  • Skip this listing if you require a first-party seller, a preloaded game library, or clearly documented warranty handling before purchase.

Before you click buy

  3. Review the current delivery estimate, shipping eligibility for your address, return instructions, and full warranty terms at checkout.
  4. Compare the final taxed and delivered total with any currently available Retroid Pocket 5 or Pocket 6 offer, matching condition and configuration as closely as possible.
