The higher-end RTX 5080 target applies specifically to 4K Path Tracing at 60 FPS with DLSS and Frame Generation—not to launching or playing the game normally.
The Remastered release became available on September 29, 2026, and the requirements below reflect the updated PC targets. CD PROJEKT RED’s release announcement and current requirements page are the relevant references; detailed hardware rows are transcribed from PC Gamer’s September 29 report because the official table is embedded as an image.
What are The Witcher 3 PC requirements?
The table shows the Remastered tiers reported by PC Gamer on September 29, 2026. They are developer QA targets, not guaranteed frame rates in every scene or on every PC. Use them to identify a like-for-like goal: resolution, preset, ray tracing mode, and any upscaling or frame generation matter as much as the named GPU.

These rows are a secondary-source transcription of the developer’s table, not a separate independent benchmark. The official notes say RT and Path Tracing tests used DLSS, FSR, or XeSS set to Auto; the Path Tracing target also used Frame Generation. Other listed configurations were tested at native resolution with upscaling off. The shorthand does not mean each upscaler works on every listed GPU. Which requirements tier should you aim for?
1080p without ray tracing
For a modest 1080p target, the Minimum row pairs Low settings with 30 FPS. For a 60 FPS target at the same resolution, the Recommended row moves to High and substantially stronger CPU and GPU examples. The studio specifically says its selected minimum NVIDIA card, the Turing-based GTX 1660, can reach 60 FPS or higher at Minimum settings. That claim is about that GPU and preset; it is not a promise that every minimum-tier component or combination will deliver 60 FPS.
1440p Ultra without ray tracing
The Ultra tier targets 60 FPS at 1440p and lists an RTX 3070 Ti, RX 6800 XT, or Arc B580 with XeSS. Treat the Arc entry’s XeSS qualification as part of the target rather than assuming equivalent native-resolution performance.

Ray tracing and Path Tracing
RT Minimum is a 1080p, 30 FPS target with an upscaler. RT Recommended targets 1440p, RT: Ultra, and 60 FPS with DLSS or FSR. Path Tracing is the distinct 2160p high-end target: RTX 5080, 16 GB VRAM, DLSS, and Frame Generation for a 60 FPS target. It is not a baseline requirement for standard rasterized play.
System requirements that affect every tier
SSD storage
CD PROJEKT RED now lists an SSD as required, citing faster loading, smoother asset streaming, and improved overall performance. Its current page does not state a storage capacity, so there is no supported minimum size to quote.

Windows and hardware support
The studio says it no longer officially supports Windows 10 because Microsoft and NVIDIA ended support for the operating system. The game may still run after the next update, but CD PROJEKT RED no longer develops or tests on Windows 10 and cannot guarantee compatibility or performance. The studio also says it supports only components still receiving official manufacturer updates. Consult the official requirements page for its current qualifications.

- Match the tier to your display and goal. Start with the closest resolution and FPS target in the table. Decide whether you want ordinary rendering, ray tracing, or Path Tracing; these are not interchangeable performance targets.
- Use the stated upscaling assumptions. RT and Path Tracing targets were tested with automatic upscaling, and Path Tracing also used Frame Generation. If you run those modes without the corresponding features, the table does not establish the same FPS target.
- Check performance in the scenes you actually play. CD PROJEKT RED warns that resolution, scene, system configuration, and settings can change results. If frame rates are unstable, lower the target or reduce settings and reassess rather than treating a component list as a guarantee.
- For a like-for-like upgrade comparison, compare the full setup. Check resolution, frame-rate target, preset, RT or Path Tracing, upscaling and frame-generation assumptions, VRAM, CPU, and SSD. A GPU name alone cannot show whether one system matches a particular row.
Temporary HairWorks performance advice
In a September 30, 2026 statement reproduced by GamesRadar+, CD PROJEKT RED said an issue with NVIDIA HairWorks may significantly affect Remastered PC performance and advised: “We recommend disabling that setting until this is addressed in a patch.” This was temporary guidance pending a patch, not a general fix for every stutter or low-FPS problem; check the game’s current status before relying on it. GamesRadar+ reported the statement on September 30, 2026.

Why old settings guides are not current benchmarks
NVIDIA’s May 2015 guide remains an index to settings such as HairWorks, ambient occlusion, foliage range, grass density, shadows, textures, and water, but it predates Remastered and does not establish modern per-setting performance results. Use the legacy guide for terminology, not as a current benchmark or universal settings recipe.
