How many people are playing The Witcher 3 on Steam? GamesRadar, citing SteamDB, reported a new peak of 137,724 concurrent players after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered launched on September 29, 2026. That is a Steam-only simultaneous-player count—not a total of everyone playing across PC storefronts and consoles.
What the reported Steam record means
GamesRadar reported that the new Steam peak was 137,724 concurrent players, surpassing the previous reported record of 103,329 in January 2020, around the debut of the Witcher Netflix series. Both figures refer to simultaneous Steam users, as reported by GamesRadar from SteamDB; they do not measure unique players, sales, or activity on other platforms.

| New peak | 137,724 | Reported by GamesRadar on October 5, 2026, citing SteamDB; followed the Remastered launch. |

The report connects the surge in timing with the remaster’s release, but does not establish that the launch alone caused it. SteamDB identifies the tracked game and lists its original Steam release date as May 18, 2015; the record therefore marks renewed attention for a game roughly eleven years after its release. The exact peak figures here are attributed to GamesRadar’s report, rather than independently confirmed from SteamDB’s chart page. CD Projekt Red’s response
GamesRadar reproduced an October 4 post attributed to Paweł Sasko, identified in the report as an associate game director on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel: “There is plenty of you on the path this weekend, my dears witchers 🔥 Much love and gratitude for playing our games ❤️” The statement celebrates players returning to the game; it is not a separate player-count claim.
