Gear now grows through Item Level and Inheritance; traits are unlocked and improved with their own stones; and Trait Resonance is a separate chance-based system. Update 4.0.0 removed the old Enhancement, Transfer, and Sync systems, so guides built around +levels and the former Enhancement menu are outdated.
What “gear enchanting” means now
There is no single current enchanting operation that covers every kind of equipment progression. Choose the system by what you want to improve:

How Item Level and Inheritance work
Item Level is the current measure of equipment growth. Inheritance is the current transfer-like operation: it moves a higher Item Level from one equipment piece to another. The official Update 4.0.0 notes say the process preserves Equipment Traits and Trait Resonance while transferring the level and Potential Skill.
Potential Skill inheritance has limited uses. It uses Inheritance Stones, which the notes say are available from the Resistance vendor and by dissolving equipment at Item Level 51 or higher. The notes also describe Sealing as a way to reset Potential Skill inheritance uses.

Use Inheritance when the objective is to carry Item Level growth to another piece, not to unlock or raise traits. Update 4.0.0 replaced Enhancement, Transfer, and Sync; do not follow their former menu paths or assume old enhancement materials and +level thresholds still apply.
How to unlock and improve traits
Dropped gear no longer comes with base traits under the Update 4.0.0 system. Each piece can have three traits, which players unlock with Trait Unlockstones and grow with Trait Enhancement Stones. These are distinct from Item Level growth and Trait Resonance.

- Unlock a trait: use a Trait Unlockstone on the equipment. The official notes establish that three traits can be unlocked per piece.
- Grow a trait: use a Trait Enhancement Stone suitable for the target equipment.
- Check material eligibility: the stones have their own Item Level, which determines what gear they can be used on. Heroic equipment uses Heroic versions of both stone types.
The official notes establish the system and material distinctions, but do not rank traits for particular builds. Which traits to prioritize therefore depends on your role and build rather than a universal upgrade order.
How Trait Resonance works
Trait Resonance is an additional layer, separate from ordinary traits. Trait Resonance Stones open resonance slots. Growth is chance-based across four slots, and each slot can be rolled up to a maximum of 10. The combined score determines the bracket of Trait Resonance effect. Amazon Games, Update 4.0.0

Update 4.15.0, dated October 7, 2026, increased resonance growth success rates and specified this Trait Resonance Stone recipe: 6 Trait Resonance Stone Pieces, 25 Precious Magic Powder, and 30,000 Sollant. Potential Skills may be added to gear when it is obtained and can grant skill enhancements or stat boosts. They can be preserved through Sealing, traded on the Auction House, and inherited to another piece of equipment. Inheritance uses are limited; cross-type transfers require Inheritance Stones.

The Seal system replaced Lithographs as the way to make gear tradeable. Sealed gear cannot be equipped until it is unsealed, and unsealing makes it untradeable. Re-sealing requires a Seal Key and Sollant. Amazon Games, Update 4.0.0
Why older gear guides give different instructions
Earlier official materials describe a previous progression model: Tier 3 equipment could be raised from +0 to +12 with Growthstones, and traits were improved using other gear, same-type items, or trait extracts. For a current guide, check that it discusses Item Level and Inheritance, Trait Unlockstones and Trait Enhancement Stones, and Trait Resonance Stones. If it centers on the old Enhancement menu, +levels, or the prior trait-material flow, its instructions predate the 4.0.0 overhaul.
