toolkitpro1340vc100.dll Won’t Load: Trace the App on Windows

toolkitpro1340vc100.dll is an application DLL from Codejock’s Xtreme Toolkit Pro, not a Windows system file. The safest fix is to identify the program that needs it, repair or verify that program, and then install the matching Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 runtime if a dependency is also missing.

What this file actually does

Codejock’s Xtreme Toolkit Pro is an MFC component library used by Windows desktop applications. toolkitpro1340vc100.dll supplies application-interface functionality to software built with that library.

It does not belong in C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64, and Windows Update is not normally responsible for providing it. The file should usually be restored from the installer, launcher, or official distribution that installed the affected program.

Public file records report the following details, but these are third-party metadata rather than a current signed Codejock manifest:

  • Publisher: Codejock Software
  • Reported version: 13.4.0.0
  • Reported architecture: 32-bit
  • Reported size: approximately 7.41 MB

The vc100 part of the name suggests that the library was built with Visual C++ 2010 tools. That does not make the file a Microsoft runtime DLL. A program may need both this Codejock file and Microsoft files such as msvcr100.dll, msvcp100.dll, mfc100.dll, or vcomp100.dll.

A confirmed distribution example is Icarus Online, also known as Riders of Icarus. Its game files include Toolkit Pro binaries and Visual C++ 2010 SP1 redistributables. Other older games and applications may use the same library, so do not assume that every error belongs to that game.

Match the symptom to the likely cause

Symptom Most likely cause Best first action
“toolkitpro1340vc100.dll is missing” The parent application file was deleted, quarantined, or never installed Verify or repair the application
“The specified module could not be found” The named DLL or one of its dependencies cannot load Repair the app, then install VC++ 2010 SP1
“The program cannot start” after an update Incomplete update or mixed application versions Run the launcher’s repair or file verification
“Not designed to run on Windows” Corrupt file, wrong architecture, or incompatible build Reinstall the exact application version
The file exists but the program still fails A dependent DLL is missing, or the file is in the wrong directory Check the application folder and runtime packages
Antivirus detected the file Quarantine or security software interference Inspect the detection before restoring anything

Windows normally searches the application directory when loading its DLLs. Therefore, a file sitting in System32, SysWOW64, Downloads, or another unrelated folder is not a reliable repair.

Fix 1: Identify the program that needs the DLL

Before replacing anything, find the executable that produced the error.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Read the error dialog for the program name.
  2. If the program has a shortcut, right-click it and select Properties.
  3. On the Shortcut tab, read the Target path.
  4. Open that folder in File Explorer.
  5. If the error appears while a launcher is running, use the launcher’s settings or game-management page to locate its installation directory.
  6. If the program is currently running, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  7. Select the program on the Processes tab, right-click it, and choose Open file location.

The folder containing the affected executable is the correct place to repair first. Do not download a replacement DLL and guess where to put it.

If you cannot identify the application, search the Start menu for recently installed programs and inspect Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Sort by installation date if the failure began after a recent installation or update.

Fix 2: Verify or repair the parent application

This is the most likely solution because the DLL belongs to the application, not to Windows.

For a Steam game

  1. Open Steam.
  2. Select Library.
  3. Right-click the affected game and choose Properties.
  4. Select Installed Files.
  5. Click Verify integrity of game files.
  6. Wait for Steam to compare and replace damaged files.
  7. Start the game again.

A successful repair normally reports that verification is complete and may download the missing file. If Steam reports that files could not be restored, restart Steam and repeat the check once. If the error remains, use the game’s launcher repair option or reinstall the game.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For another launcher

Look for a menu named Manage, Settings, Repair, Scan and repair, Verify, or Verify files.

  1. Open the launcher.
  2. Select the affected application.
  3. Open its menu or properties page.
  4. Choose the repair or verification command.
  5. Allow the launcher to replace damaged files.
  6. Restart the launcher and test the application.

For a traditional desktop program

  1. Press Windows + I.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps & features on Windows 10.
  4. Find the program.
  5. Select its three-dot menu on Windows 11, or select the program on Windows 10.
  6. Choose Advanced options if available.
  7. Select Repair and wait for it to finish.
  8. Start the application.

If there is no Repair option, uninstall and reinstall the program using its original installer or the publisher’s official download. Back up saved games, profiles, and configuration files first if the application stores them locally.

The repair worked if the program starts without the DLL message. If the same message returns, continue with the runtime and architecture checks below.

Fix 3: Install the correct Visual C++ 2010 SP1 runtime

The Microsoft runtime does not contain toolkitpro1340vc100.dll, but it may provide dependencies required by that DLL or by the parent application.

Use Microsoft’s official Visual C++ 2010 SP1 download page. For a 32-bit application, install the x86 package even when Windows itself is 64-bit. Install the x64 package only when the affected executable is 64-bit. Some systems need both because they run both types of applications.

  • MICROSOFT WINDOWS 11 PRO (INGLES) FPP 64-BIT ENG INTL USB FLASH DRIVE
  1. Open Settings > System > About.
  2. Check System type to see whether Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit.
  3. Determine the application architecture from its documentation, launcher package, or installation folder. A 32-bit game may be installed under Program Files (x86), but that folder is only a clue, not proof.
  4. Download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable package.
  5. Run the installer as administrator.
  6. Accept the license terms and select Install or Repair if the package is already present.
  7. Restart Windows.
  8. Start the affected application again.

The relevant package names may appear as vcredist_2010_sp1_x86.exe and vcredist_2010_sp1_x64.exe. In some application folders, especially older games, these installers are included in a Redist or Prerequisites directory. Prefer the copy bundled with the application when it is present, then use Microsoft’s package if necessary.

If the installer fails, open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, find the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable entry, select it, choose Change, and select Repair. Reboot after the repair.

Installing a newer Visual C++ generation does not necessarily replace the 2010 runtime. Multiple Visual C++ redistributables can coexist.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Fix 4: Check antivirus quarantine

Security software may have removed or isolated the file, whether through a false positive or because the application was modified.

  1. Open Windows Security.
  2. Select Virus & threat protection.
  3. Select Protection history.
  4. Expand the event associated with the application.
  5. Read the detected file path and threat details.
  6. If the file belongs to the legitimate application and the installation came from an official source, use Actions > Restore only when you trust that installation.
  7. Run Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Scan options > Full scan.
  8. After restoring the file, run the application’s file verification or repair command.

Do not restore a file merely because its name matches the missing DLL. If the detection is serious, the application files are modified, or the source is uncertain, remove the application and reinstall it from its official installer.

If antivirus removes the file again, update security definitions, scan the full system, and contact the application publisher. Do not permanently disable protection to force the program to start.

Fix 5: Check the architecture and application version

A 64-bit Windows installation can run 32-bit applications, and those applications require 32-bit DLLs. The operating system’s architecture does not determine the DLL architecture needed by the program.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Use the DLL and executable supplied by the same application release. Do not substitute similarly named files such as:

  • ToolkitPro1340vc100x64.dll
  • ToolkitPro1342vc100.dll
  • Debug builds
  • Files copied from another game or application

A mismatch can produce “not designed to run on Windows,” immediate crashes, or another missing-dependency message.

If you manually copied the DLL into the application folder, remove that copy and run the application’s repair or verification process. The correct release must come from the program that needs it.

Fix 6: Do not use regsvr32 or copy the file into Windows folders

regsvr32 is normally used for COM or ActiveX components that register entries such as InprocServer32. toolkitpro1340vc100.dll is an application library, so registration is not a general repair method.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not run:

regsvr32 toolkitpro1340vc100.dll

That command will usually produce an error or do nothing useful. It does not install missing dependencies and does not make an incompatible DLL work.

Also avoid copying the file into:

  • C:WindowsSystem32
  • C:WindowsSysWOW64
  • Another program’s directory
  • A folder added to the system PATH

These locations can create version conflicts and unsafe DLL-loading conditions. The correct location is normally the directory used by the application that loads the library.

Fix 7: Repair Windows components if other programs also fail

Run Windows repair commands only when you are seeing wider system problems, such as several built-in applications failing or repeated corruption errors. These commands will not normally restore a missing Codejock application DLL.

  1. Open Start.
  2. Type Command Prompt.
  3. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  4. Select Yes at the User Account Control prompt.
  5. Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  1. Wait for DISM to finish. Do not close the window while it is working.
  2. Then run:
sfc /scannow
  1. Restart Windows.
  2. Run the application’s repair or verification process again.

DISM repairs the Windows component store, while SFC checks protected Windows system files. Neither command is a substitute for reinstalling the program that supplied toolkitpro1340vc100.dll.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you repeatedly hunt through Windows components, rerun repairs without knowing what changed, or cannot determine whether corruption is broader than this application, Outbyte PC Repair can scan for reported problems and identify what needs attention; its free scan shows the findings, while repair is handled by the full version. Reinstalling the affected game or application remains the definitive fix for this DLL.

Fix 8: Check drivers only when the failure is broader

A graphics or chipset driver does not normally provide toolkitpro1340vc100.dll. Driver work is relevant when the application also crashes with graphics errors, multiple games fail, or Device Manager reports a device problem.

  1. Right-click Start.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Expand Display adapters and System devices.
  4. Right-click a device with a warning icon.
  5. Select Properties.
  6. Read the status on the General tab.
  7. Open the Driver tab and select Update Driver.
  8. Choose Search automatically for drivers.
  9. Restart Windows if a driver is installed.

Use the computer or hardware manufacturer’s official support page when Windows cannot find a suitable driver. Do not expect a driver update to recreate this application DLL.

If checking each device manually leaves you guessing which of dozens of drivers is stale, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan and show the reported driver issues; its free scan identifies findings, while driver installation is handled by the full version. For toolkitpro1340vc100.dll, repairing or reinstalling the parent application is still the primary solution.

If the error says “specified module could not be found”

That wording does not always mean the named file itself is absent. Windows may have found toolkitpro1340vc100.dll but failed to load one of its dependencies.

Check these points in order:

  1. Confirm the DLL is in the same application directory as the executable that needs it.
  2. Run the application’s verification or repair command.
  3. Install or repair the matching Visual C++ 2010 SP1 architecture.
  4. Check antivirus quarantine.
  5. Remove manually copied or mismatched DLLs.
  6. Reinstall the application from its official source.
  7. Inspect Event Viewer by right-clicking Start, selecting Event Viewer, and checking Windows Logs > Application for an error at the launch time.

If the application includes a Redist folder, inspect it for runtime installers. If every repair fails, record the exact executable path, application version, Windows architecture, and full error text before contacting the publisher.

Frequently asked questions

Is toolkitpro1340vc100.dll a Windows file?

No. It is an application DLL associated with Codejock’s Xtreme Toolkit Pro library. Do not treat it as a System32 or SysWOW64 component.

Should I download the DLL by itself?

Generally no. Random DLL download sites can provide malware, the wrong architecture, or an incompatible version, and a replacement may not fix the missing dependency. Restore the file through the original application installer, launcher, game platform, or publisher.

Why does a 64-bit PC need an x86 DLL?

Because a 32-bit application needs 32-bit libraries. Windows being 64-bit does not convert a 32-bit program into a 64-bit program.

Will Visual C++ 2010 SP1 install this file?

No. It can supply runtime dependencies, but it does not recreate the Codejock DLL. Repair or reinstall the parent application for that file.

Does regsvr32 fix this error?

Normally no. This is an application runtime library, not normally a self-registering COM or ActiveX component.

What is the final step if nothing works?

Uninstall and reinstall the exact affected application from its official source, preserving saves and configuration files first. If the clean installation still fails, contact the publisher with the executable path, architecture, error text, Event Viewer details, and any antivirus detection information.
