What it is

Chunkweave NBT Editor is a free browser tool for editing structured data from Minecraft Java Edition. It displays NBT content as a typed tree, allowing searches through nested tags and edits to typed values. Supported files include .nbt, .dat, .mca, .mcr, and .schematic, including level.dat, playerdata, and compressed NBT containers. Structure files can be inspected for blocks, entities, palettes, and metadata. Anvil regions open with a 32×32 map showing populated chunks before inspection. Processing and rebuilding happen locally in a browser Web Worker; the maker says opened world files are not uploaded, stored, or received. Changes download as a separate file, leaving the original untouched, and undo and redo are available beforehand. The editor has no account, payment, or cloud storage. It is intended for manual editing, not API automation, and has no desktop installer.

Good, and not so good

  • Supports several Minecraft data formats
  • Typed tree editing with nested search
  • Local processing in a Web Worker
  • Separate-copy downloads preserve originals
  • Free with no account required
  • Web-only; no desktop installer
  • No terrain editing
  • No batch operations
  • Not intended as an automation API

Who it suits

It suits Minecraft Java players, map makers, server administrators, and technical creators who need browser-based NBT inspection and editing.

Chunkweave provides focused, local editing for Minecraft Java NBT files in a browser. Its format coverage and region browsing are useful for manual world and structure work, while desktop and batch workflows are outside its scope.
