What it is
Minecraft Region Fixer checks Anvil world folders and region files for structural or compression problems. It can restore damaged chunks from an older backup, delete them for Minecraft to regenerate, and remove excessive entities. The tool runs locally on Windows, Linux, or macOS with Python 3.x. It reports level.dat and player-file warnings but does not repair those files.

Who it suits
Server administrators repairing corrupted Anvil worlds Owners with an older world backup Users comfortable running Python scripts locally
Choose Minecraft Region Fixer when a Minecraft world has chunk or region corruption and you can work from a safe backup. It gives server owners a no-cost way to scan many files, preserve usable chunks from an older copy, or remove damage for regeneration. The command-line setup demands Python 3.x and careful file handling. It will not repair level.dat or player data, and it is not a general terrain editor. For administrators comfortable with local scripts and cautious recovery steps, it covers a focused job without a purchase.

Questions
- What Minecraft files does Region Fixer scan?
- It scans Minecraft world folders and Anvil region files (.mca), including complete worlds, selected regions, region-file sets, and multiple worlds.
- Can it recover a corrupted chunk?
- Yes. It can replace a damaged chunk with a copy from an older world backup. Without a backup, it can delete the chunk so Minecraft regenerates it.
- Does it repair level.dat or player data?
- No. It scans level.dat and player .dat files and prints warnings, but it does not repair those files.
- Which operating systems are supported?
- Windows, Linux, and macOS are supported. The current program requires Python 3.x and does not support Python 2.x.
- Can it delete entities?
- Yes. It can remove entities from chunks whose entity count exceeds a configured limit. Deletion options also cover broken chunks and region files.
- Is there a maintained Windows executable?
- No. The FAQ says the Windows executable is no longer maintained and that old downloadable executables should not be used.
- Does it work with modded Minecraft content?
- It focuses on Anvil region-file integrity and generally does not remove blocks or entities added by mods.
- Where do users report problems or ask questions?
- The README directs bug reports and suggestions to GitHub and points users to Minecraft Forum threads for questions and feedback.
