VGSources / Best Minecraft Launchers / FTB App
What it is
The FTB App is Feed The Beast’s desktop launcher for discovering, managing, and playing modpacks. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is the only officially supported place to get Feed The Beast modpacks. The app also connects to CurseForge for modpack discovery, installation, and management. Users can create, customize, and share their own packs, then add, remove, or update mods; CurseForge provides mod search. Supported modloaders include NeoForge, Fabric, and Forge. Separate instances and automatic updates help keep packs organized, and each instance can use a selected Java version, Java arguments, and custom RAM settings. The app can install and set up FTB modpack servers through its interface or a Linux command line. Authentication is required to use the app, and playing Minecraft requires a Minecraft account. Windows uses the Overwolf platform, while macOS and Linux use Electron without requiring another background application. The app is free to use and includes ads that support Feed The Beast. Its source code is available through the project’s GitHub repository, and support is directed to a community-run Discord.
