What it is

MCA Selector is a free tool for selecting and modifying chunks and regions in Minecraft Java Edition world saves stored as Anvil .mca region files. Filters can identify chunks by conditions such as data version, last update time, and inhabited time, with multiple conditions chained together. The filter tool also accepts custom one-line Groovy scripts through a Script Editor. Its chunk editor exposes the full NBT structure, including points of interest and entities, so tags can be changed, added, deleted, or moved. Chunks can be imported from another world with offsets and overwrite options, and selections can be copied or pasted through the system clipboard. Color-gradient overlays show per-chunk values. A command-line mode supports selection creation, chunk import and export, deletion, region defragmentation, NBT changes, and image generation. Downloads are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as a universal JAR. Snapshot-generated worlds are not guaranteed to work even when a version appears in the support table. The project recommends backing up worlds because the tool can modify or delete chunks.
