Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter gives you in-game records for quests, recipes and reading material, but the available route details do not establish reliable chest counts, item locations or missability for Chapter 1. Use this guide as a completion checklist: follow the story segments in your game, clear the guild work available at each stop, explore every newly accessible area, and audit your records before moving on. It avoids inventing item-by-item directions that cannot be verified.
What this Chapter 1 guide can—and cannot—confirm
The official Steam listing frames Estelle Bright and Joshua’s journey across Liberl as a junior-bracer mission that grows into a larger conspiracy. It also lists both the game and a demo, and says players can choose traditional turn-based combat or real-time action combat. Those options do not change the completion checks below; use advice and controls appropriate to the mode you selected. Official Steam listing

A third-party Chapter 1 guide listing describes coverage of story, side quests, chests, recipes, books and BP bonuses, but its page could not be accessed to verify a route or individual entries. That category list is useful as a checklist, not as evidence for exact quantities or locations. Chapter 1 guide listing
How to work through Chapter 1 without overlooking content
Use the game’s story segments and locations as your route. The evidence available here does not establish the segment names or order, so check your current objective and map rather than relying on an assumed sequence. At each new location, complete the following checks before advancing the main story:

- Experience the expansive combat system, richly-realized world, and stirring story of the 2nd chapter of the Trails series! By carrying over your clear data from 1st Chapter, you can obtain exciting bonus items that will help you on your journey.
- Overpower your enemies with new Crafts and S-Crafts! Link your characters' attacks during Quick Battles with the new Brave Rush, and make full use of the orbment system for access to Arts.
- Dive into an intricately woven narrative to uncover the conspiracies threatening the Kingdom of Liberl.
- Enjoy a variety of new content in the sequel, including minigames like fishing and poker, cooking with your companions, and fan-favorite characters joining as playable party members.
- Like Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, this remake will have updated English and Japanese voice, and English, German, French, and Spanish text language support.
- Review the guild bulletin board. Note each available quest and its conditions. Finish the work you intend to do before leaving the area, then check the Bracer Notebook for the quest record and key story events.
- Explore newly accessible areas. Search each explorable area for chests as you reach it. No verified Chapter 1 chest count, list of contents or route order is available here, so do not treat a guessed total as a completion standard.
- Speak with people and check reading material. Look for recipe prompts and books or Liberl News issues as you visit locations. The known records can confirm what you acquired, but no verified NPC-by-NPC trigger list is available here.
- Audit before the next story step. Compare your quest notes, recipe entries and Book List with what you intended to collect. If something is missing, revisit accessible locations before continuing.
Use the in-game records as your completion checklist
| Record | What it helps you check | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Bracer Notebook | Bulletin-board quests and key story events | Check that completed guild work and important events are recorded. |
| Recipe Book | Meals and cooking from ingredients in your inventory | Review discovered recipes and use the book to cook when you have the required ingredients. |
| Book List | Acquired Liberl News issues and novel volumes | Confirm which reading items have been added to your collection. |
These records are useful audits, not proof that every optional item in a location has been found. In particular, the available documentation does not say that they record chest completion.
Quests and BP: check conditions as well as completion
BP bonuses are among the categories the third-party guide listing says it covers, but the accessible evidence does not verify individual quest conditions, bonus amounts or deadlines. Read each quest’s instructions carefully and complete its stated requirements before turning it in. Use the Bracer Notebook to confirm that the quest has been recorded; do not infer a particular BP result from a quest’s presence alone.

Chests, recipes and books: a location-by-location audit
Treasure chests
Search each explorable area you encounter, including side paths you can reach before the story moves on. Because a trustworthy chest inventory is not available here, this guide cannot name every chest, state a total or confirm whether any are permanently missable. Record areas you have not fully explored and return while access is available.
Recipes
Check for recipe prompts during conversations and from reading material, then confirm discovered meals in the Recipe Book. The book also supports cooking using ingredients in your inventory. The available evidence does not identify exact Chapter 1 recipes, their NPC triggers or their locations, so verify each new entry in your own Recipe Book rather than relying on an unverified list.
