Both are available. TUXEDO’s current Gemini 17 Gen4 AMD configuration lists TUXEDO OS, Ubuntu 24.04 and Windows 11 as operating-system choices. The product page does not establish that Linux and Windows ship together as a preinstalled dual-boot system, so treat them as selectable options unless TUXEDO confirms a custom arrangement.
Which operating systems does the Gemini support?
On the Gemini 17 Gen4 AMD product page reviewed on September 28, 2026, TUXEDO lists three operating-system options:
- TUXEDO OS, the company’s own Linux distribution.
- Ubuntu 24.04.
- Windows 11.
The listing identifies supported choices, not a guaranteed dual-boot installation. If you need both systems, ask TUXEDO about installation options or plan a separate installation and backup process.
Linux or Windows: which should you choose?
Choose TUXEDO OS if you want TUXEDO’s Linux setup
TUXEDO OS is the most direct Linux choice for a TUXEDO notebook. It suits buyers who want a Linux desktop without replacing the factory operating system themselves and who prefer TUXEDO-specific support and configuration guidance.

- In order to purchase the correct product, please carefully check your laptop model or product part number before purchasing. If you have disassembly pictures, please send them to us.
Choose Ubuntu 24.04 for a mainstream Linux environment
Ubuntu 24.04 is the listed alternative if you prefer Canonical’s distribution, its documentation and its broad software ecosystem. Confirm that the exact software, peripherals and game services you use support Linux before ordering.
Choose Windows 11 for Windows-only software or game compatibility
Windows 11 is the practical choice when a required application, anti-cheat system, launcher or game is Windows-only. The available evidence does not establish equal game compatibility between Windows and Linux, and no independent gaming benchmark was supplied.

What hardware is listed for the AMD Gemini 17 Gen4?
This is a large performance notebook rather than an ultraportable. TUXEDO positions it for work and play and lists desktop-replacement-class components. The following are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
| Component | TUXEDO-listed specification |
|---|---|
| Display | 17.3 inches, 2560 × 1440, 240 Hz |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX |
| Graphics | Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, 12 GB GDDR7, up to 115 W |
| Memory | Up to 128 GB DDR5-5600 in two SO-DIMM slots |
| Storage | Up to 8 TB across two M.2 SSD slots |
| Battery | 73 Wh |
| Size | 39.7 × 26.5 × 2.9 cm |
| Weight | 2.8 kg |
The page also mentions DLSS 4.5 upscaling for demanding games. That is a stated capability, not a measured frame-rate result.

Ports and desktop-replacement practicality
The listed connections include HDMI 2.1, two USB-C ports with DisplayPort support and two USB-A ports. Combined with the 17.3-inch chassis, 2.8 kg weight and 73 Wh battery, the specification points toward plugged-in desk use, external displays and upgradeability rather than frequent lightweight travel.
Windows drivers and reinstalling an operating system
TUXEDO says that corresponding Windows drivers are uploaded and updated in its myTUXEDO cloud. Driver availability can change, so download the current chipset, graphics, network and device drivers from TUXEDO’s support area when installing or reinstalling Windows 11. Save the drivers and recovery information before wiping a factory installation.

Upgrade considerations
Memory
The AMD model has two SO-DIMM slots and a listed maximum of 128 GB DDR5-5600. Compatibility depends on the exact factory configuration and module specifications; verify those details with TUXEDO before buying a kit or replacing installed memory.
Storage
Two M.2 slots and a listed total capacity of up to 8 TB leave room for additional SSD storage. TUXEDO’s page does not identify a specific retail drive, form factor or interface listing for an upgrade, so confirm the exact slot and drive requirements before ordering.

What to verify before ordering
- Choose whether the order should contain TUXEDO OS, Ubuntu 24.04 or Windows 11.
- Ask TUXEDO directly if you require a preconfigured dual-boot system; the reviewed listing does not promise one.
- Check the live configuration for current component combinations, pricing, taxes, shipping and delivery estimates.
- Confirm driver instructions for your chosen operating system, particularly after a clean Windows installation.
- Verify memory and SSD compatibility before purchasing upgrades.
- Match your game library and required anti-cheat or launcher software to Linux or Windows rather than assuming the RTX 5070 provides identical support on both.
Bottom line
The Gemini 17 Gen4 AMD can be ordered with TUXEDO OS, Ubuntu 24.04 or Windows 11. Select Linux for a TUXEDO or Ubuntu workflow; select Windows when your software or games require it. The 17.3-inch 240 Hz display, Ryzen 9 9955HX, optional RTX 5070 and extensive memory and storage limits make it a powerful, upgrade-friendly desktop replacement, but the operating systems should be treated as alternatives unless TUXEDO confirms dual-boot provisioning.
