The publisher describes Twelve Minutes as a real-time, top-down interactive thriller with an accessible click-and-drag interface. These habits matter more than any single answer, because the game rewards careful recall.
- Start each run by deciding what you are watching for. Pick one character, one object, or one location rather than trying to track everything.
- Keep a running note outside the game. Record the time in the run, who is where, and anything that seems out of place.
- Before a run ends, list your open questions. An unexplained event is a better lead than a finished one.
- In the next loop, change one thing at a time. If you alter several actions together, you cannot tell which one caused the result.
- Record the outcome of every change, including the ones that did nothing. A dead end is still information.

- You have learned a new fact that changes what you expected to happen.
- You have an unexplained event you want to investigate in the next loop.
- You have tested a change and seen a clear, repeatable result.
Pausing at these moments keeps your notes useful. Returning after a break is easier when each note says what you tried and what you expected.
If you are stuck
When several changes produce nothing new, work through these checks before trying more variations:
- Confirm your notes include times and character positions. Vague notes make it hard to see what changed.
- Re-read your open questions and choose the one that involves the fewest variables.
- Try focusing your observation on a different character for one loop, then return to your main thread.
- Take a break from the game and come back to your notes. Fresh attention often catches a detail you missed.
