GamesRadar+ lists Twisted Cryptids for 2–4 players and describes a game as taking about an hour. Its review says play unfolds over five rounds. The campaign FAQ, last updated September 30, 2024, gives an age recommendation of 10+, while GamesRadar+ lists age 12+. That age-rating discrepancy is unresolved, so check the age guidance on the edition you are considering.

What is the gameplay like—and who might enjoy it?
GamesRadar+ characterizes the experience as chaotic and reactive: players adapt as humans move around the board and use actions or cryptid powers to disrupt one another. That can suit groups who enjoy direct competition and plans that change quickly. It may be a weaker fit for players who prefer mapping out several turns in advance or want the match to build stronger tension toward its end.
That is one reviewer’s assessment, not a universal verdict. GamesRadar+ says its review used a publisher-provided sample and involved repeated play; the review’s impressions should be read in that context.

What did the Kickstarter edition and campaign include?
The 2024 campaign FAQ said the Kickstarter-exclusive box would fit all base-game and Ness is More cards when sleeved. That statement applies to the campaign edition; it does not establish storage capacity for every retail box or every sleeve thickness.
The FAQ also described add-ons being handled through BackerKit after the Kickstarter closed, with tier packages and add-ons planned for two shipping waves. Those are historical campaign arrangements, not evidence that the same add-ons can be purchased now or that current fulfillment is complete.

A 2025 publisher update reported progress on Wave 1 fulfillment and mentioned a Wave 2 schedule. It also offered printable Drop Bear, Kraken and Kelpie cards, tokens and player markers, plus a Tabletop Simulator file for online play. These project materials do not establish present-day stock or availability. GamesRadar+ has reported that expansions are available directly from Unstable Games, but current inventory and prices have not been verified.
