For Watch Dogs 2, Ubisoft says to launch the game once to sync previously unlocked Ubisoft Connect achievements to Steam; the available sources do not establish that every account or save situation will sync without issue.
Are Steam Achievements available for Watch Dogs 1 and 2?
Yes. Both games now list Steam Achievements. Steam Support’s Watch Dogs listing includes the feature, while Ubisoft announced the addition for Watch Dogs 2 in a Steam Community post dated February 5, 2025. Neowin reported the matching announcement for the first Watch Dogs on February 6, 2025; the first game’s addition is therefore corroborated here by Steam’s feature listing and secondary reporting.

This update is about the Steam versions of the games. It does not indicate that Steam Achievements were added to console editions.
Will my old progress unlock achievements automatically?
Ubisoft’s February 5, 2025 Watch_Dogs 2 announcement says previously unlocked Ubisoft Connect achievements will automatically unlock on Steam after you launch the game once. Neowin reported the same launch-once sync instructions for the first game, based on its account of the Steam announcement.

How to trigger the sync
- Start the Steam version of the game while signed in to the Ubisoft Connect account associated with your prior achievements.
- Launch the game once. Ubisoft specifically gives this instruction for Watch Dogs 2.
- Check Steam to see whether the previously unlocked Ubisoft Connect achievements have appeared.
The announcement does not detail exceptions or troubleshooting, and does not guarantee that every prior achievement will sync in every account or save situation. Steam Support says Watch Dogs 2 requires a valid Ubisoft account and high-speed internet for activation and certain online functions; this does not establish that every achievement requires a live connection.

- Watch Dogs: Neowin reported the corresponding Steam announcement on February 6, 2025, and Steam Support lists Steam Achievements for the game.
Steam Support identifies Ubisoft as developer and publisher of both titles. Its listings give release dates of May 26, 2014, for Watch Dogs and November 28, 2016, for Watch Dogs 2.
