Insider Gaming said the claimant had provided no evidence, while a separate group reportedly withdrew its claim of accessing user information. The Rainbow Six Siege disruption that prompted the rumors was a distinct service incident—not proof of a broader corporate data theft.
What was reported about Ubisoft and the alleged hacks?
In a December 28, 2025 report, Insider Gaming described the claims surrounding several alleged Ubisoft hacks as “blown way out of proportion.” That characterization came from unnamed sources familiar with some of the groups involved. It was not a statement from Ubisoft or a named security official.
The report covered separate events and allegations. Keeping them distinct matters: the Rainbow Six Siege service disruption was reported as an in-game incident, while the larger claims concerned alleged access to Ubisoft company data.
What happened to Rainbow Six Siege?
According to Insider Gaming, rumors followed Ubisoft shutting down Rainbow Six Siege servers after someone manipulated the game’s in-game currency. Ubisoft intended to roll back the change. The incident was a service disruption; it does not, by itself, establish that company data was stolen.

Was the 900GB Ubisoft data leak verified?
No verified theft total was established in the cited reporting. A group claimed that roughly 900GB of data had been compromised, allegedly including source code, internal tools and game-development materials. Insider Gaming said the group had not provided evidence for the claim. The amount and the alleged contents should therefore be treated as allegations, not confirmed findings.
Insider Gaming also reported that a separate group, which had claimed access to user information, later backed away from that assertion. That weakens that particular claim but is not a comprehensive finding about Ubisoft’s systems. Neither report establishes that no data was accessed.

How does the report relate to earlier Ubisoft leaks?
Sources quoted by Insider Gaming said Ubisoft’s security team had been made aware of some breaches earlier in 2025, following leaks involving projects including “Scout” and the canceled Far Cry game codenamed “Talisker.” Those earlier matters are not evidence that the separate 900GB claim was true.
