Super Nintendo World is one of the themed worlds at Universal Epic Universe in Orlando, with two areas—Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country—and three named rides: Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Mine-Cart Madness and Yoshi’s Adventure. Universal first revealed details about the land in May 2024; its current official pages provide the more useful guide to what visitors can find there now.
What Universal revealed in 2024—and what the land includes now
Sabina Graves’s May 2, 2024, Gizmodo article covered Universal Orlando’s announcement of more details about Super Nintendo World at the then-upcoming Epic Universe, including its rides and character interactions. That announcement-era coverage is useful for the reveal’s context, but current destination details are best checked on Universal Orlando’s Super Nintendo World page and its Epic Universe park map.
Universal describes two themed areas: Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country. The land also features encounters with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad, along with themed dining and merchandise. The current page identifies the destination, but details such as operating conditions may change.
What rides are in Super Nintendo World?
The three named rides offer different kinds of visits: interactive Mario Kart racing, a Donkey Kong-themed family coaster and a gentler Yoshi-themed trip through the Mushroom Kingdom. Universal’s current overview lists all three.

How Power-Up Band challenges work
A Power-Up Band is a wearable sold separately that adds interactive activities to the land. Universal says visitors can use it to collect digital coins, stamps, scores, rankings and keys. Earning enough challenge keys unlocks access to Bowser Jr.’s lair for the Bowser Jr. Shadow Showdown.
The band is for those interactive features; Universal’s description does not say it is required to ride the attractions. Details about price and current retail stock are not established on the cited activity page, so check Universal’s Power-Up Band activities information for current details.

Food, characters and other things to find
The current Epic Universe map lists meet-and-greets and several food locations in the land: Toadstool Cafe, Yoshi’s Snack Island, Turbo Boost Treats and The Bubbly Barrel. Universal’s overview also identifies themed merchandise. These offerings make the area more than a ride lineup, though venue availability can change.

Universal’s park map says attractions, restrictions and dining venues are subject to change. Its listed 40-inch minimum for Mine-Cart Madness is a practical planning detail, not a guarantee that restrictions or operations will remain unchanged. Confirm current attraction requirements, operating information and dining availability with Universal before your visit.

Which ride best fits your plans?
- Choose Mario Kart: if the interactive racing concept and collecting digital coins sound like the main draw.
- Choose Mine-Cart Madness: if you want the Donkey Kong Country coaster experience; check the height restriction for anyone in your group.
- Choose Yoshi’s Adventure: if a family-friendly, scenic trip through Mushroom Kingdom landscapes is a better fit.
