The Valerion StreamMaster Plus 2 is a long-throw 4K projector built around an RGB triple-laser light source, Google TV and manufacturer-claimed low-latency gaming modes. Valerion claims 15 ms of input lag at 4K and 4 ms at 1080p/240 Hz, but those figures have not been independently measured in the available coverage. It is best considered by buyers who have room to position a conventional projector and want one device for films, streaming and games—not as a plug-and-play, bright-room TV replacement.
What the StreamMaster Plus 2 is
The projector in the headline is the Valerion StreamMaster Plus 2, first introduced under the name VisionMaster Plus 2 and later renamed for general retail sale. It is a conventional long-throw projector: it sits several feet from the screen, rather than inches away like an ultra-short-throw (UST) laser TV. Valerion is described as a home-entertainment startup; its sister brand AWOL Vision focuses on UST projectors. New Atlas’s March 2025 report is the source for the product details below.
The pitch is a single projector for large-screen movies, built-in streaming and responsive gaming. The specifications are appealing, but key performance figures are manufacturer claims rather than independent test results. That distinction matters most for brightness, contrast, color accuracy and input lag.

These are reported or manufacturer-supplied specifications, not a substitute for independent measurements. The cited coverage does not provide measured brightness, contrast, fan noise, color accuracy, HDR tone mapping or lag. It also does not clarify the projector’s native-versus-pixel-shifted 4K imaging method.

What RGB triple laser does—and does not—tell you
“RGB triple laser” means the light engine uses separate red, green and blue laser sources, rather than a conventional lamp or a blue laser paired with a phosphor wheel. That design can support a wide color gamut and strong color saturation, and it avoids lamp replacement. Valerion’s listed 110% BT.2020 figure describes claimed gamut coverage.
A wide gamut is not the same as accurate color, good contrast or deep blacks. Those depend on the imaging system, calibration, light control and room. The reported 3,000:1 native contrast figure is not an independent measurement, and the projector has no listed dynamic iris. Buyers who watch films in a dark room should seek credible black-level and calibration testing before treating the color claim as proof of overall picture quality.
Streaming: Google TV is convenient, but check your services
Google TV supplies the built-in interface, while the report says Netflix can be opened from the remote. AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Miracast offer additional ways to send content from compatible devices. The projector also lists Wi-Fi 6E; that can help in a busy wireless environment, but cannot improve a streaming service’s source quality or overcome a weak internet connection.

App certification and availability can vary by region and software version. Before buying, confirm that the services you use are supported directly in your market; “Google TV” alone does not guarantee every app is available or licensed. A streaming stick is a practical fallback. For a permanent installation, wired Ethernet—identified among the connectivity options in the report—is preferable when the network and installation allow it. Image quality still depends on the subscription tier, source, HDR handling and room lighting.
Gaming: the lag number depends on the mode
Valerion claims 15-ms input lag at 4K and 4 ms at 1080p/240 Hz; the article does not independently measure those figures. They describe different operating modes, not one universal response time. The 15-ms claim would be suitable for many console games and single-player play if confirmed. The 4-ms figure would be unusually responsive for a projector, but applies to 1080p at 240 Hz—not 4K—and is most relevant to PC players whose hardware can deliver very high frame rates.
For console buyers, verify the exact resolution and refresh modes supported by the console and projector, then look for measured lag in the mode you intend to use. The cited report does not establish support for VRR, ALLM, 1440p or every console-specific refresh mode. It also does not explain the lag-testing method or whether the 240-Hz signal is accepted and displayed natively. Do not buy on the 4-ms number alone.

Use HDMI rather than wireless casting for games: wireless adds latency and can introduce instability. Image enhancements, HDR processing and digital keystone correction may also affect responsiveness, so the relevant test is the projector in the settings and mode you will actually play. Even a responsive projector may have weaker motion clarity, HDR impact or black levels than a gaming monitor or OLED TV.

This is not a projector to place close to the wall. Measure the room and calculate the throw distance for your intended screen size before ordering. Its fixed 1.2:1 optical zoom and absence of listed vertical lens shift narrow placement options; at 15.4 lb, it is also better suited to a stable shelf, stand or secure ceiling mount than frequent moving. Allow for ventilation and use a mount rated for the projector’s weight.
Physical alignment is preferable to relying on digital keystone correction, which can reduce usable image detail and distort geometry. Do not assume automatic screen fit, obstacle avoidance or other hands-off setup tools are included; none is confirmed in the cited report. Large screens make minor placement errors more obvious.

The stated 300-inch maximum is a capability claim, not a recommended everyday image size. As the image grows, the available light is spread over more area, making brightness, screen gain and viewing distance increasingly important. A 2,000-ISO-lumen specification does not promise a television-like image in direct sunlight or a bright living room.
- Dark, controlled room: a fixed-frame or tensioned white or neutral-gain screen is a straightforward starting point.
- Some ambient light: consider an ambient-light-rejecting screen designed for a long-throw projector. UST ALR screens use different optical geometry and are not interchangeable.
- Large image: check the projector’s throw-distance requirements and the screen’s size and gain together; the maximum advertised image is not necessarily the best-looking one.
How it compares with other projector types
Compared with a UST model, the StreamMaster Plus 2 offers conventional front-projection or ceiling-mount placement, which can suit a dedicated theater where a UST cabinet would block the screen area. But it needs much more distance from the screen. A UST projector can sit close to the wall or screen and is often a better fit for a living room replacing a large TV, typically with a screen designed for UST projection.
There are also competing long-throw RGB-laser models. The NexiGo TriVision Ultra advertises autofocus, auto-keystone, obstacle avoidance and auto screen fit, along with 2,600 lumens and high-refresh gaming. Its own page specifies that its 4.2–8-ms claim applies to 1080p/240 Hz, while its stated 4K/60 result is 17.6 ms. Those are still manufacturer figures, but the mode-specific disclosure is useful. The page’s price and stock messages have been inconsistent, so check current availability rather than relying on an old promotion.

The JMGO N3 Ultimate is another long-throw RGB-laser option marketed with 240 Hz, VRR and 1-ms input lag. These are advertised claims that likewise need independent confirmation; its cited promotional price was higher than the StreamMaster Plus 2’s historical launch price.
For a UST alternative, the AWOL Vision LTV-3000 Pro advertises an 8-ms Turbo Mode and supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and 3D. RTINGS’ independent review found 4K/60 and 1080p/120 gaming modes but no 1440p or 240-Hz mode, and noted image-quality and manual-setup compromises. For another UST direction, ProjectorReviews’ Hisense PX3-PRO review describes 4K/60 and 1080p/240-Hz gaming support. These models solve a different placement problem; they need an appropriate UST screen and are not direct long-throw substitutes.
Who should consider it—and what to verify
The StreamMaster Plus 2 makes the most sense for someone who wants one device for streamed shows, films and gaming, has enough room for long-throw placement, and values wide-gamut color and a 1080p high-refresh option. It is less compelling for bright daytime viewing, buyers who need a projector inches from the wall, or anyone who needs verified 4K/120, VRR, ALLM or 1440p compatibility.
