VALORANT Patch 10.04, published by Riot Games on March 4, 2025, announced Waylay, a new Duelist from Thailand, alongside agent balance changes, a Competitive and Deathmatch map rotation, and updates to Ascent and the Combat Report. Waylay’s staggered regional rollout began March 5, 2025. The rotation and balance details below describe the patch at release, not VALORANT’s live state in October 2026.
Who is Waylay, and what does she do?
Riot introduced Waylay as the roster’s newest Duelist, hailing from Thailand. Her kit uses light to reposition, disrupt nearby opponents, and create an opening for an attack. Riot said her staggered rollout across regions would begin at 9:00 AM PT on March 5, 2025.
- Refract: Waylay creates a beacon on the floor. Reactivating the ability sends her back to it as a mote of light, invulnerable while traveling.
- Light Speed: She prepares a burst of speed, then uses Fire for two forward dashes or Alt Fire for one. Only the first dash can send her upward.
- Saturate: She throws a light cluster that explodes when it hits the ground and Hinders nearby players. Hinder reduces fire rate, recoil recovery, equip time, reload speed, movement speed, and jump speed.
- Convergent Paths: Waylay creates an afterimage and beam. After a delay, she gains a speed boost as the beam expands and Hinders nearby players.

Which agents changed in Patch 10.04?
The general agent updates covered Clove, Deadlock, Iso, Neon, and Tejo. The values below are Riot’s patch changes from 2025, not current balance guidance.

Clove
- Meddle: The effect no longer detonates on a 1.3-second timer after casting. It now explodes after contacting the ground and then waiting 0.75 seconds.
- Ruse: Cooldown increased from 30 to 40 seconds.
- Pick Me Up: Health-buff duration increased from 8 to 10 seconds; movement-speed duration decreased from 8 to 3 seconds.
Riot said the adjustments responded to Clove’s ranked performance and were intended to encourage more Controller diversity.
Deadlock
- Barrier Mesh: Changed from a free signature ability to a non-signature ability costing 400 credits.
- GravNet: Became a signature ability with a 40-second cooldown, and its total size decreased from 16 meters to 13 meters.
- Riot updated GravNet’s projectile audio loop and made the net-breaking audio cue audible to all players.
Iso
- Undercut: Charges decreased from two to one, and cost increased from 200 to 300 credits. Hits now apply Suppression as well as Vulnerability for four seconds.
- Contingency: Gained an alternate cast that moves the wall at half speed without changing its duration.
- Double Tap: When its shield breaks, Iso now receives a Heavy Penetration tag rather than a Wall Penetration tag.
- Kill Contract fix: The ultimate now automatically applies Double Tap’s buff when needed, so winning an arena duel always spawns an orb.
Neon
Riot updated Overdrive’s visual effects to make Neon and her direction clearer during fights. Separate console-only tuning adjusted Overdrive damage multipliers and Sprint fuel drain; those values were standardized to PC.

Tejo
Guided Salvo damage decreased from 70 to 65, and the ability now deals 50% damage to non-player objects. Riot said Killjoy’s Lockdown would survive Guided Salvo with 5 HP, encouraging more teamplay in that interaction.
What changed in the map rotation?
For the Competitive and Deathmatch queues at Patch 10.04’s release, Ascent and Icebox entered the rotation while Abyss and Bind left it.

Ascent B Main
Riot changed part of the wall along B Lane in Ascent’s B Main to non-pennable. The stated aim was to give attackers more safety when first approaching B Main as the barrier drops.

In addition to Neon’s Overdrive and Sprint adjustments described above, the console-only section changed Yoru and Reyna. Riot characterized these adjustments as standardizing values to PC while preserving some console-specific behavior.

Yoru
- Dimensional Drift: Unequip delay decreased from 1.2 to 0.8 seconds.
- Fakeout: Flash duration increased from 2.0 to 3.0 seconds, while the explosion delay increased from 0.6 to 0.8 seconds.
- Blindside: Maximum flash duration increased from 1.25 to 1.75 seconds; explosion delay changed from 0.7 to 0.6 seconds.
Reyna
Leer: Health increased from 40 to 100.
Which bug fixes and known issue did Riot list?
Bug fixes
- Neon: Fixed a systemic issue affecting her head movement while sliding with repeated strafing inputs.
- Fade: Fixed her hands getting stuck after crouching while holding Nightfall.
- Competitive: Fixed the Rank Shield icon disappearing from Match History after a non-Competitive game.
Known issue
Riot noted that the first-person camera angle could appear slightly offset while spectating another player.
