Tejo’s rollout began on January 8, 2025 at 9:00 AM PT. If you are asking about his gear, the answer changed in September 2026: Patch 13.06, released September 22, 2026, replaced the old Agent Gear progression with Agent Mastery and Agent Reward Tracks. The release date is a historical fact. The gear system is current, and it works differently from what many players remember.
When Tejo was released
Riot announced Tejo’s rollout in Patch 10.00, published January 7, 2025, with the release starting January 8, 2025 at 9:00 AM PT. Riot described it as a staggered rollout to all regions, so 9:00 AM PT marks the start of the release window rather than the moment every region unlocked him at once. Riot’s release-day design article on January 8, 2025 confirmed that Tejo had officially joined the VALORANT Agent roster.
Who Tejo is and how he plays
Tejo is a Colombian Initiator. Riot describes him as a veteran intelligence consultant whose kit is built around gathering information and then flushing opponents out of position with targeted utility. Three parts of his kit define the playstyle:
- Stealth Drone: a controllable drone. Its pulse suppresses and reveals the enemies it hits.
- Tactical strike: a map-targeted wave of explosions, placed from the map view rather than aimed in the first-person view.
- Guided Salvo and Special Delivery: additional utility whose values have changed since launch (covered below).
Riot’s design article states the core tradeoff. Because Tejo places utility precisely from the map, each piece of utility covers a smaller area than some broader-footprint Initiator abilities. Strong play with him depends on putting that precision to use rather than relying on area coverage.

Two quotes from that design article show the intended approach. Ryan “Rycou” Cousart, Game Designer for Tejo, said: “Because rockets are sweet.” John “Riot MEMEMEMEME” Goscicki, Agent Team Lead, said: “Everyone can play Tejo but those with strategic game sense who can step up to being a leader will make him really shine on the battlefield.” Both are statements of design intent. They do not measure how strong Tejo is in current play.
What changed in Agent Gear
Riot previewed the revamp in Patch 13.05 on September 1, 2026, and launched it in Patch 13.06 on September 22, 2026. The update introduced Agent Mastery and Agent Reward Tracks. Progression is now tied to the individual Agent you play, and rewards are chosen with a currency called Kingdom Credits.

- Bandai Spirits Banpresto is proud to announce their newest release Valorant Monitor Top Figure Sage!

The new progression works in this order:
- Play supported modes as the Agent. Each supported match on that Agent earns Agent Mastery Points.
- Progress your Agent’s Lifetime level. Lifetime progression unlocks access to that Agent’s Reward Track.
- Spend Kingdom Credits on the rewards you want from that track.
Each Agent track combines rewards carried over from the former Agent Gear system with new rewards. Riot says any Agent Gear reward you had already unlocked stays unlocked. Patch 13.06 also states that Portrait Accents unlock at Act Levels 4, 7, and 10. Those are general progression milestones, not Tejo-specific items.

|---|---|---|

What is on Tejo’s reward track
Riot’s Patch 13.06 material explains how Agent Reward Tracks work, but it does not list the individual items on Tejo’s track. Do not plan around specific Tejo rewards based on the system announcement alone. To see the current contents, open Tejo’s track in the game client, and treat any third-party item list as a secondary source until it matches the client.

How Tejo’s abilities have changed since launch
Launch-era descriptions and values no longer match the current kit. Two patches changed him:
- Patch 10.09, May 13, 2025: Guided Salvo’s charge and cost model and targeting range were revised, other ability prices were changed, and Armageddon’s point cost was increased.
- Patch 12.00, March 31, 2026: Special Delivery’s concuss duration was changed and explosion damage was added. Stealth Drone’s reveal and pulse radius were also changed.
Those patch notes are authoritative for the values they list at the time they were published. For current costs, cooldowns, and radii, check the live game or the most recent patch notes, because later patches may have changed them again.

What to check before you plan a Tejo build or reward path
- Confirm the current Tejo ability values in the live client rather than in older guides.
- Open Tejo’s Agent Reward Track and note which items are listed as unlocked, locked, or purchasable with Kingdom Credits.
- Compare any item list against the client before spending Kingdom Credits.
